Now that Mario Kart is evolving, I think Mario Kart should receive a name change to reflect the new types of vehicles added. I think A proper name should be Mario All Star Racing or Nintendo All Star Racing or Mario and Nintendo All Star Racing.

Yeah if they put All-Stars Racing it would sound like what Sega did.

If they did have to rename something other than a number they'd probably name it "Mario Kart NX" So if they were to name it that a tagline on the back could be "The next xtreme racing game"

Special guests aren't a new thing, Pwwnd.

They've been around since DS and the first arcade game.

But Mario Kart is more than just about karts, it's about motorbikes and all terrain vehicles now. Plus it has crossovers. It needs a name change to reflect the new features.

Mario Kart has been around for over 20 years now. It would be strange to suddenly change the name of the franchises.

That would confuse people into thinking it's something different.

Do you mean most of it's casual audiences or just the people who buy it?

They wouldn't really be confused. They'll say it's the same game but with a rebranding.

The Holy Roman Empire was actually a secular German federation of city-states. The guinea pig is actually a South American rodent. And the Big Ten conference has four colleges more than its name suggests.

Get over it. Sometimes the title of something isn't exactly indicative of its content. It just works well enough as a name.

With 4 out of the 5 titles including "All-Star", even though non-Mario characters were only in the latest one due to DLC, it seems trivial. There are guest stars like people have mentioned above.

Also, with the rebranding, you got to think about it from a financial stance. Why change the name of a 20+ year series that have been stapled to at least 30 million people (based on MKW sales), with merchandise, products, and other goods known to even more people that immediately recognize it? It's such a minor change that affects a lot more than you think. Some people just buy games based on the series (hence, Paper Mario, Zelda, New Super Mario Bros.). A name change will make people think there is something different, or that it is a knock-off of Mario Kart and tons of other scenarios that would be negative for the name change.

Is there Mario in the game? Yes. Is there Karts in the game? Yes. Mario Kart.

It is just to reflect on the added material.

well rob existed in ds and no one gave a shit about changing mario kart's name

it's just now even though the non-mario characters are absolutely optional

In the Super Mario games, you can now play as Peach and Toads. We should change to Super Mario Bros and a Toad or Two and Possibly Peach.
