post any random Mario thought on your mind

I am trying to 100% complete New Super Luigi U. Honestly, unlike a lot of people, I actually prefer Luigi's physics, that being his higher jump and lower traction. It certainly makes the boss fights (at least Lemmy's for now) a lot easier to do damageless. I'm honestly more used to his physics since I always play as him in games like Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Advance, and Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World. Now, in games where all the characters play the same, such as New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Super Mario Maker 2, I still play as Luigi out of pure fandom of the character. Honestly, his physics are not bad, they just take time to get used to if you've never played with them before.

I've started to accept that I just have different priorities and that's why I hate the Pachinko Machine more than the Poison River from Sunshine. The Poison River is designed absolutely horribly and don't get me wrong, I'm not out here trying to say it's good or anything, but I think I prioritize functionality over good design. Pachinko Machine is coded with Scotch tape and vibes and has invisible walls, rightward forces, Mario getting stuck (including a full on softlock), and even the slide that resets you being super janky. Poison River has none of that so I have more patience for it.

In the Mario and Luigi games, there are two different stats for both POW and DEF; one stat is the base stat that is seen when you open up your stats on the menu in the overworld, and the other is the battle POW/DEF that can change depending on what happens in battle. What's the difference between the two?

I'm probably just saying this because I'm in that kind of mood but Mario needs more pirates.

The Panchinko Machine tries its best to be a physics simulator and just fails utterly miserably at it. Sunshine in general is a poorly scotched together Mario game, it has some of the worst 3D Mario levels in Mario history.

Probably similar to Pokemon base stats vs the stats you get from your current level + stat experience/EVs/IVs and if your stats got modified in-battle.

Good ones too, not shitty ones like in TTYD.

My favorite level in Sunshine is the one where you hold up on the joystick and you win.

I'm sorry, I don't really know much about Pokemon. I'm gonna need a little more detail than that.

People keep talking about a new 3D Mario game coming out for the Switch 2 this year. I mean, it would be perfect timing since it is Mario's 40th anniversary. However, a few things holding that back are the fact that the Super Mario Galaxy Movie is coming out this year, and pretty much everything is celebrating Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. If Nintendo released a brand new 3D Mario game, one would overshadow the other. I think Nintendo's waiting for a better time to reveal their next game. Additionally, they just released Donkey Kong Bananza, which is their main 3d adventure game created for the Switch. It was originally supposed to be a direct followup to Super Mario Odyssey, and its developers also worked on that.

I just realized that the Trouble Center in Thousand-Year Door is supposed to be that game's successor to Koopa Koot. Wow, I'm an idiot.

Edit: Technically, I did know about it for a while, but I kept forgetting.

In my playthrough I found it easier to walk on the side of the river and then use the hover nozzle to collect the coins. Before I realized that though, I hopped in the pipe at the end thinking it would take me back to the start of the river. And of course, it didn't. Nice. Despite all of that SMS is still my favorite 3D Mario game.

You're just built different because I've tried that and I always end up immediately slipping off the edges.

Princess Daisy is probably the character with the most fan mockups for power ups in mainline games, but after Wonder, she'll probably be playable in a mainline title again.

It's kinda weird that Mario Tennis Aces' story gave unplayable (until updates) characters roles over some of the ones that were always playable.

I wish the Illumination films didn't decide on the title formula of going "The Blank-ety Blank Movie" because there could be some especially joyous titles.
  • Its-a Super Mario World!
  • Mario's Galaxy of Treasures
  • Hop, Step, Super Mario!
Then again, the latter two sound a bit like book or direct to DVD titles.

Something I agree with but nowadays people have to put the because everyone wants to be boring

I mean, sometimes simplicity works better. At least they did the Super Mario Galaxy Movie rather than the Super Mario Bros. Movie 2.

I prefer how Super Mario Galaxy 2 covered the post-"100%" completion (finding the 120 stars) over Super Mario Galaxy's take.

While playing through the full game all the way over again but as Luigi with slightly different physics may have been fun, there was nothing to new to expect, and the 240-star reward wasn't anything too grand, just one final walk down the Purple Coin-lined memory lane.

While I haven't gotten anywhere near there yet, the Green Stars hidden in every galaxy seem much more fun than replaying the base missions again. Though the galaxies are a bit smaller to fit base stars, the comet star, and the green stars all into one, I find going out of your way to find the new hidden ones is fun, and your final reward is a test to see just what you have learned so far, times 2 once you max out the star bit count.

I don't think having a main protagonist who doesn't talk (and not because he has a disability or anything) will hold up very well as a show.
