it's not like information being revealed earlier will make the Switch itself come out any earlier, the end result will be the same. just be patient.

Ok, now I hope this is pure PR:

while it's great to continue supporting the 3DS, if Nintendo really wants to continue actively supporting the handheld line of consoles the Switch risks to not have a different situation from that of the Wii U, where Nintendo struggled to release first party titles for it and ultimately gave up on the fourth year also due to having to dedicate resources for both divisions (home and handheld), even though I think some of the Wii U games used 3DS games as base to build on the new game (Mario Kart 8 based on Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D World based on Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash based on Mario Tennis Open, Paper Mario: Color Splash based on Paper Mario: Sticker Star).
Since so far only one completely new game was announced with the console (the new 3D Mario), in my opinion they will definitely have to work hard to show that support-wise the Switch is not going to be the new Wii U.

Nintendo has added USB-C charging support.

Awesome.

Still, need to know the battery life of that thing.

Some more rumours:

*The Switch Dock increases performance of main console (clocking speed, not processing power) with USB-C connection. (Source)
*Switch will have GameCube Virtual Console. (Source) This may mean that Virtual Console is coming to the Switch. I hope Nintendo improves input lag on NES VC and N64 VC.

I thought the Wii U was supposed to have GameCube virtual console. I don't know how badly they flubbed the Wii U up to not receive one.

The funniest thing is that, using the Wii mode, the hackers were perfectly able to play GameCube games on the Wii U. After all the Wii itself was very similar to a GameCube, and since the Wii U "included a Wii inside", directly playing GameCube games on the Wii U (not really Virtual Console, more like the Wi games bought on the eShop) was technically feasible. I guess Nintendo never bothered to support the GCN controller for SSB4 and to emulate the Memory Cards...

My rant talked about ways they could implement GCN support on the VC. I was pissed off about how long it was taking them to implementing it. Nintendo, you better implement GCN support on the VC on the Switch. We need those GameCube games preserved for future generations.

for people who don't know why USB-C is a good thing:

*hella fast data transfer speeds
*hella fast charging speeds

the more you know
