Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Today's question is Fusion related. Scariest moment you experienced?

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Easily the SA-X encounters.

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

I'd have to agree with you the SA-X is spine-chilling. Today's question, favorite boss in each game you've played, then favorite of all time from those bosses?

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

metroid: ridley
metroid 2: didnt play much so i dunno
super metroid: certainly ridley, best boss fight ever
Metroid fusion: That robot thing that fights you as you have to stick to the ceiling to fight it, idk it was pretty cool.
metroid zero mission: Ridley

Metroid prime: i dont even remember the bosses to be honest
Metroid prime 2: Every freaking dark samus battle, they were so awesome.
Metroid prime 3: Rundas, freaking awesome character and the battle was insanely intense

overall best boss was super metroids ridley.

Very amazing fight from beginning to the end, also helps the boss theme was really awesome too.

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

I liked the Final SA-X fight in Fusion, it was fun.

I also liked the fight against the first few chozo ghosts in Prime, though they were more of a mini-boss that turned into common enemies. Actual boss is a tie between Omega Pirate for just being kind of intimidating in size and the final boss for how you were forced to use everything you had acquired over the game to beat it.

The bosses are fun but none of them stand out as an overall favourite, they were never the interesting part of the game when I played tbh.

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Metroid: Kraid
Zero Mission: Ridley
Metroid Prime: Flaahgra
Echoes: Dark Samus
Corruption: Rundas
Return of Samus: technically every Metroid is a boss, don't have a favorite
Super Metroid: Ridley
Other M: Phantoon
Fusion: SA-X

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

The SA-X fight from Fusion is the only one that sticks out in my head.

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Man, Other M sucked so much. I hope Sakamoto never works on the franchise again.

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

i heard other m was loved in japan

which is weird since normally metroid titles get more of a "meh" response over there

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Metroid: Mother Brain
Metroid 2: ? Not really all that memorable
Super Metroid: Ridley
Metroid Fusion: SA-X
Metroid Zero Mission: Ridley
Metroid Prime: Meta Ridley

Overall: Meta Ridley

Today's question, Favorite area to explore (like the lava land, arctic area, aquatic arena, plant plazas, etc.)

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Phendrana Drifts and Bryyo Ice were completely beautiful. This series needs more snowy/icy areas.

What about Sector 5 in Fusion?

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

I honestly liked going through Phazon Mines, kind of like finally going straight to the space pirates rather than just stumbling upon them in Phendrana Drifts.

Tallon Overworld was also nice to explore, the rain always made it feel good to be in. The crashed frigate orpheon was also a nice 'wow this was here the whole time' thing, even though you can see it early on if you want.

also, all the music in prime was fantastic and set the mood perfectly for each area

thanks for restoring my faith in the japanese 22 :P

i'm always glad to save an innocent soul from the torture of believing there's some context in which metroid other m isn't hated

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Metroid: Tourian
Metroid 2: ?
Super Metroid: Norfiar especially the ruins part of it
Metroid Fusion: Sector 1
Metroid Zero Mission: Chozodia
Metroid Prime: Phendrana and the Phazon Mines

Today's question, what is your least favorite area to explore?

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

Just a heads up, starting tomorrow for those with a Wii U and missed the Metroid Prime Trilogy disc release, the Metroid Prime Trilogy is being released on the E-Shop tomorrow for $10. It's a goddamn steal and if you don't buy this game, you deserve to be flogged.

Re: The Official "Metroid" Thread

I bought the disc version for like 50 bucks and like a month later they announce it for download :/ Part of me wants it but I also feel like it's not worth it

For a question: Anything you dislike about Metroid?

I would get it but I have no money on my Wii U.
