She also has her own game, and 3DL gave her an amusing thing where they show her trying to escape.
 
Oh yes, I forgot about Super Princess Peach.

She's been shown to be pretty competent, unlike Pink Gold Peach who is just a blatant copy-paste excuse for padding.

They shouldn't even need padding with all the characters in the Marioverse.
 
Honestly ? Block deserves to be playable over Pink Gold Peach

Lack of characters probably isn't the reason for the padding.
 
I'd rather have a delayed game with a roster full of variety than get a game now with the roster largely composed of turtles, babies, and robots.
 
The roster has four Marios and a Baby Luigi, there has to be something good about it.

If delaying a game so I can have a varied rosters of characters I don't even use then i'm sadly opposed to a delay

Nintendo doesn't care much about variety in their games rosters.

It's not like the "variety" is much better.

A generic Mario enemy that's dressed up and has a name.
A geometric object thingy.

Needs more Mini Marios and Brighton and Twila and Captain Syrup.

I had Luigi in mind, so make of what you wish.
 
I'd be satisfied with any of those actually. And "lame" is subjective. Also the geometric object thing only applies to some of the SPM characters, the ones I'd want (Count Bleck, Dimentio) could easily be redesigned to resemble the mainline Mario art style.

And I'd prefer one of Mario's partners to their generic counterpart any day.
 
Problem is Mario partners are not known well compared to their generic counterpart.
People prefer to get characters they recognize.
 
I'm sure Koops would be easily recognized as a friendly Koopa.

Same goes for Goombario, Bow, Parakarry and the rest.

Hell, even Vivian and Ms. Mowz would fit in since I think enough would recognize them, about as many as recognized Honey Queen.
