Yeah, that sounds about right. Although it feels like all the "ink" in the game behaves the same, regardless of color. So it's certainly not a direct knock-off, like I was fearing.

BTW, this game will, indeed, have a single-player campaign... or at the very least, Reggie Fils-Amie feels that not including a single-player mode would "be a mistake".

Single-player isn't necessary for a game to be fun, you know.
 
^ No, but at least if you don't really have anyone to play with and you really like the game, it's nice to have something you can do without having to wait until you can get others to play with you.

It is for me, since I mostly play single player games. Either way, I'd at least like the option there. I know games can sell themselves on being solely multiplayer, like Team Fortress 2 and the like, but IMO, if Splatoon were JUST multiplayer, I wouldn't be interested in it.

Plus, how much are you willing to bet that if it WAS just multiplayer, Nintendo would still charge the game at the same price as a normal game?

Treehouse Interview:
-4 maps at the moment, making many more.
-Working on more vertical maps to make more use of wall swimming and make judging the arc of ink more important.
-Multiple Superweapons, not all offensive, some help your team (Super weapons are kill streak-esque weapons. Not secondaries.).
-Pick your loadout of weapon + Superweapon pre-match. There will be multiple different primary weapons than the one shown in the demo.
-Sniper Rifle is a charge shot weapon? (Unclear if it's a primary weapon or super)
-Some kind of close range shotgun type weapon.
-Thinking about character customization. (Changing shirt, shoes, pants, hat/headgear
)

Oh yeah true, the classic Valve multiplayer games (Dota 2 and TF2) are free-to-play while Nintendo might charge for them.

This game was so much fun at PAX.

Single player looks awesome in a Mario-3D-World-kind of way.

It seems to get better every time I see it.
 
More games should have Octopi in them.

Man, this game is looking absolutely crazy, and I love it. It's so refreshing to see new ideas being played around with. The single-player mode looks good, seems like they'll be puzzles and shooting. The aesthetic touch here looks off the walls. I found the music and enemy designs to be off-putting at first, but it all feels really unique rather than repulsive.
 
Originally I was unsure on this game, though leaning towards probably buying. Now I want to buy it, I may not do the online that much, but I will love the single-player.
