Gosh, I wish I knew exactly what they were thinking off... I'll have to ask them again.

They're probably thinking of gel, which adheres to surfaces similarly to how the ink in this game does.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Although it feels like all the "ink" in the game behaves the same, regardless of color. So it's certainly not a direct knock-off, like I was fearing.

BTW, this game will, indeed, have a single-player campaign... or at the very least, Reggie Fils-Amie feels that not including a single-player mode would "be a mistake".

It is for me, since I mostly play single player games. Either way, I'd at least like the option there. I know games can sell themselves on being solely multiplayer, like Team Fortress 2 and the like, but IMO, if Splatoon were JUST multiplayer, I wouldn't be interested in it.

Plus, how much are you willing to bet that if it WAS just multiplayer, Nintendo would still charge the game at the same price as a normal game?

Oh yeah true, the classic Valve multiplayer games (Dota 2 and TF2) are free-to-play while Nintendo might charge for them.

Man, this game is looking absolutely crazy, and I love it. It's so refreshing to see new ideas being played around with. The single-player mode looks good, seems like they'll be puzzles and shooting. The aesthetic touch here looks off the walls. I found the music and enemy designs to be off-putting at first, but it all feels really unique rather than repulsive.
