According to VGChartz it sold about 2.25m worldwide which is pretty meh for a Mario title.

lol vgchartz
Do you have a better source?

- Joe-average's game blog
- US-only sales

Try again.

My bad source doesn't make your bad source any better.

Not finding a better source doesn't discredit my source.

VGChartz compiles public sales data and estimates a number. No, it's not 100% accurate (and can potentially be far from it), but there's not much better available when so much of that information is kept hushed. They've also been known to adjust number when more accurate information becomes available.

And seeing as the game has been out for about 10 years that should be more than enough time to get a fairly accurate number (or about as accurate as you're going to get).

It's a good estimation but it's not a good resource when trying to find accurate sales data. The fact that Thousand-Year Door was a Player's Choice title means that it did fairly well.

I don't really give two ---- about sales data anyway

Well you're not going to get more accurate data unless you have connections with market research companies.
Which VGChartz have.
And have probably applied to their sales data.
Because they've had 10 years to do it.

Also, for the record, it wasn't a Players Choice title here so that might give some indication of how poorly it sold outside of the states.
