SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2

It started off looking like it had potential. Then the live-action came.

Am I the only one who likes the concept of cartoon characters in a live action world?

It's a good concept, but Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Smurfs and probably this movie make everyone think otherwise.

This. The new Sonic the Hedgehog movie will also be an animated/live-action hybrid.

or kill bill?

i have examples.
again, neither of those were hybrid animation and live action

but shit man, kill bill had a great animation sequence

Live-action/animation hybrids have been around since the dawn of animation really.

not really

mary poppins, who framed roger rabbit and space jam are the only big ones I think

let's not forget wall-e guys
Again, WALL-E was not hybrid. Yes, it had some live-action, but they were few and displayed on tvs, separate from the rest of the movie.

Looney Tunes: Back in Action was pretty good IMO.
However, none of those movies were CGI/live-action.
I thought they are?

What's your definition of CGI?

I meant modern CGI like in Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Smurfs.
