I think as long as Nintendo keep Birdo as a main character but don't try to keep it secret, there wouldn't be any "truth" in her or the species. It's just like telling there are seven genders of toads in Marioverse all of a sudden.Coin Heaven said:The one that appeared in smb2 was a crossdresseser but I believe there are male and female members of the Birdo species and like Yoshis there are way more than one.

Well once again, I apologize. I would never mean to hurt an actual transsexual's feelings. The only reason I consider Birdo an "it" or a "thing" is because I don't know what the heck kind of species Birdo is. You know, like Gonzo.Bulbasaur said:i'm really not amused by this
i'm also not very articulate when i'm angry, or even in general, but i'm going to try this anyway
neither the fact that birdo is fictional, nor the fact that she's a dinosaur, mean that calling her by the wrong pronouns is a defensible action. birdo's feelings arent what's at issue here. this culture consistently erases and dehumanizes trans people, and one method of doing that is by insisting that they are the gender that matches their sex organs, or that they are genderless objects. by referring to birdo as "he" or "it", you perpetuate that pattern and normalise it. even though birdo can't be hurt by it since she's fictional, the fact that youre reinforcing the pattern means that other trans people who really exist can be hurt by it
maybe you like the idea of buttressing social structures that injure all trans people for no reason whatsoever. otherwise, you must insist on using the correct pronouns for everyone, always
Your hateful, prejudiced transphobia disturbs me to no end.His Excellency Lord Fawfulthegreat64 of the Beanbean Realm said:I say it should either gain a female voice, become male (without the pink and bow and everything) or get the hell out. The creature we have now disturbs me to no end.
