2007. Whenever you buy a game used and the previous owner wrote their initials on the cartridge with a sharpie. (Or alternatively, when the store sticks the price tag directly on the cartridge sticker leaving glue residue on it when you remove it. ARRGH.)
 
2009: The Smash fanbase.
 
2012. 2Mbps of internet speed that doesn't allow me to play online.

And of course fucking Fortnite still is the one game that works.
