I guess it is fair to say that most people are happy he's in because they can finally get revenge for his laughing whenever you failed in Duck Hunt in an official game (Other then those fanmade flash remakes that I've seen where you can shoot the dog) after all these years. xP

Though we also gotta see how his moveset's going to be. (It'd be so funny though if Duck Hunt Dog ended up being a solid character in tourneys)

So including him feels like forcing "it's over 9000" into every Dragon Ball game.

I would ask you how is putting a character into one game the equivalent of putting a joke in every single game of a franchise

buuuuuut I just remembered that you're Sifi and as such attempting to reason with you is more-or-less pointless

I didn't even know that so I looked it up.

There's still a difference. In those, you're NOT SUPPOSED to shoot the dog. As shooting the dog in Duck Hunt Vs. ends the Bonus Round (And it's only possible in the Bonus Round). And in Barker Bill, the goal is to shoot balloons without hitting the dog.

In Smash 4 it will be different. People who dislike him have the satisfaction of actually winning when they beat the Duck Hunt Dog :P

Because jokes about the dog are on the same level as over 9000 jokes and other decade old memes

And of course they included him because of the meme because that's the only reason anyone remembers him
