Actually, 5.75/6 would accelerate 475% faster than 1/6.

Removing the acceleration tiers would be a huge improvement, as it's just a very stupid system to begin with. Instead, do something more like...

1/6	Lowest acceleration value.
1.25/6	25% faster than 1/6.
1.5/6	50% faster than 1/6.
1.75/6	75% faster than 1/6.
2/6	100% faster than 1/6. So ×2

2.25/6	25% faster than 2/6.
2.5/6	50% faster than 2/6.
2.75/6	75% faster than 2/6.
3/6	100% faster than 2/6. ×2 of 2/6, or 2/6 is already ×2. Hence ×4 in total

3.25/6	25% faster than 3/6.
3.5/6	50% faster than 3/6.
3.75/6	75% faster than 3/6.
4/6	100% faster than 3/6. ×2 of 3/6 so ×8

4.25/6	25% faster than 4/6.
4.5/6	50% faster than 4/6.
4.75/6	75% faster than 4/6.
5/6	100% faster than 4/6. ×2 of 4/6 so ×16

5.25/6	25% faster than 5/6.
5.5/6	50% faster than 5/6.

Am I the only one that, even if it's a small detail, wants the feature that made the name of a nearby racer appear above them like in Mario Kart Wii? I want to know who I have to insult when I'm in second place. I hate not knowing which character is ahead of me.

1/6	Takes about 5 seconds to start reaching top speed.
1.25/6	Takes about 4.75 seconds to start reaching top speed.
1.5/6	Takes about 4.5 seconds to start reaching top speed.
1.75/6	Takes about 4.25 seconds to start reaching top speed.
2/6	Takes about 4 seconds to start reaching top speed.
2.25/6	Takes about 3.75 seconds to start reaching top speed.
2.5/6	Takes about 3.5 seconds to start reaching top speed.
2.75/6	Takes about 3.25 seconds to start reaching top speed.
3/6	Takes about 3 seconds to start reaching top speed.
3.25/6	Takes about 2.75 seconds to start reaching top speed.

Confirmed in the US too.

Same day as Japan.

EDIT: also in Europe and Australia. So it's a worldwide release.
