I know it looks nice and all, but I also thought Cheep Cheep Lagoon was all right in Mario Kart 7. Before I actually raced on it.

I thought the Rainbow Road in MK7 was awesome, until I raced on it. Same can be applied for a lot of other tracks.
I don't mind this Rainbow Road, I didn't get my hopes up because I didn't assume it would automatically use the zero-gravity to it's full potential (speaking of that, what would be its full potential? There really isn't much you can do outside of drive on walls and rainbow road usually has none). The Space Station idea is nice, spices up a (IMO) concept that has been losing its wonder after 7 games.

Looking at the character roster excluding the Mii Mario Kart Wii and 7 had exactly half of the whole roster available at the start, but 8 has 16 at the beginning and 13 unlockables. So... DLC is very likely at this point imo, if DLC is going the be a thing at all I'd say the minimums are 2 characters and cups to go with them, much like how Mario Golf World Tour is pairing characters with courses. Maybe I'm just getting hopeful at this point, since it definitely takes time to make even one course, let alone with the same detail as the rest of the game.

Except GameXplain actually played MK8.
And they also said that it goes for VS Mode, not Grand Prix. So the mirror cups are very possible locked at start.
