Mario Tennis Sequel Discussion Thread

I was just joking about the Pink Waluigi thing. They could add Flying Mario, Fire Luigi, and Ice Mario as alternate costumes, you know.

I suppose that would work.

Pallete Swaps for returning characters (S=Standard Colour)

Mario: Red/Blue(S), Green/Blue, Yellow/Purple, White/Black
Luigi: Green/Blue(S), Red/Blue, Purple/Black, Black/White
Peach: Pink(S), Orange, Light Green, Dark Grey
Daisy: Orange(S), Pink, Light Blue, Light Grey
Wario: Yellow/Purple(S), Purple/Black, Red/Blue, Black/Grey
Waluigi: Purple/Black(S), Yellow/Purple, Green/Blue, Grey/Black
Bowser: Orange/Green(S), Green/Orange, Blue/Red, Dry Bowser colours

More coming later

I don't understand why they all need palette swaps, but alright.

Because Yoshi is no more special than Bowser Jr. is

That's probably not why they added the color changes (because I doubt they thought Yoshi was special either). I bet they wanted to add more unlockables, but ran out of time.

If the Yoshi color swaps could be used for potential character slots, then consider that Camelot's worst mistake.

Not character slots, but other small features like Yoshi's color change. Maybe the ability to play as Boo with a crown, or some way to play as a Spear Guy all the time.

That would be cool. I'd definitely add that in the next Mario Tennis for the console

Here's the "More":

Donkey Kong: Dk Brown with Tie (S), Light Brown sans Tie, Green with Tie, Grey sans Tie.
Diddy Kong: Dk Brown(S), Red, Blue, Grey
Yoshi: Green (S), Red, Blue, Black
Bowser, Jr.: Yellow/Green[/b], Green/Yellow, Pink/Red, Black
Koopa Troopa: Green Shell (S), Red Shell, Blue Shell, Black Shell
Boo: White (S), Red, Green, Black
Shy Guy: Red (S), Green, Pink, Black
Paratroopa: Red Shell (S), Green Shell, Yellow Shell, White Shell
Wiggler: Yellow (S), Red, Green, Grey
Petey: Green/Red (S), Yellow/Green (S), Red/Blue, White/Black.

It can't be just color swaps, it could also be alternate costumes

Not if the sequel was on the WiiU.

That might take up too much disc space; not even Brawl could do that.

You know, most games don't use up all the 4 GB space on a disk. Mario Kart Wii doesn't too that, that's for sure. Besides, this game has less characters than Brawl, and less characters means less animations, which means less space. Separate animations take up more space than separate costumes.
