    Finally watched the Shiftylook retrospective, so weird to see the Lost Media Wiki article I made show up in it, nice to know the Valkyrie artist is a trans-man

    Why are so many people on the internet are so proud to announce they look down on kids? When I went through this in my early teens, my main thoughts were that it made me feel so bad that I wouldn't wish this on anyone else, how is it cool to have no compassion?

    I don't think that's a fair perspective. People grow, they change, and as they mature they very well may disagree with their stances as youths. A lot of youth culture as I understand it, both past in present, often rebels for the sake of rebelling. Opposing conformity for the sake of opposing conformity. That "not like other girls" mentality is often (though not solely) propagated by other teen girls, not just out of a fear of femininity, but out of conformity.

    As a person matures, however, these stances may change. A person may become (though obviously not guaranteed) more conservative over time, or just more accepting of normal culture. That's not an inherently bad thing. We naturally laugh at things in the past that we did that we find silly or immature; that's not becoming "cruel adults", that's changing (either way, those who opposed the counterculture movement weren't inherently cruel, nor was that the thing countered.).

    Mind you, I don't like those who label any opinionated youths as being "trendy" or just being "not mature enough" to have an opinion. I dislike that view; while the brains of teens and young adults aren't fully developed, they are still capable of forming and having their own opinion. Their opinions may change over time, and that's fine, but shutting them up on the basis of their youth is unhelpful and if anything would disencourage them from actually thinking about their stances in more depth.

    I definitely don't remember realising that but I'd never thought about it before, I've just seen eating, drinking, and sleeping as an essential part of my daily life for as long as I remember and never questioned it

    OBJECTION! You feel extra tired because when you get more sleep, your body wants to sleep even more! That's why getting extra sleep while sick helps, it makes them want to sleep even more and the recovery prossess speeds up!

    PS. Yes, I really do like the third former, the fourth former, and the fifth former despite them all being shows for little kids. I like the antics Max gets into and he can be quite funny. For the others, I like Doc for Lambie, the sheep in the ballet tutu who likes hugging, and like Sofia for the titular character herself.
