  • Hi everyone, I just finished Season 3 of Adventure Time. It was definitely my favourite season so far! Here are my thoughts:
    • My favourite episodes were Fionna and Cake and What Was Missing, both being extremely nostalgic childhood favourites, in WWM's case I distinctly recall it being my #1 favourite episode in the entire show when I was a kid, with F+C being a close runner up. So I was over the moon when I encountered them right next to each other on the season 3 DVD having been wondering since the beginning when they'd show up. Both episodes feature very fun stories, lovely songs (especially I'm Just Your Problem and My Best Friends in the World), heartwarming interactions between the protagonists, and fantastic morals about womens' independence, and the value of truthfulness and friendship above material treasures. I also really loved Bubblegum and Marceline's outfits in What Was Missing, they're both very stylish and I remember styling my makeshift fashion after them when I was a kid. I also really liked the interactions between the two women in this episode, which although it's not technically the first time they interact it's the first we really see into their relationship, and as someone who cares a lot about the LGBTQ+ community being represented in media, I loved that this episodes subtly hints a possible romantic past between the two women, though I'm aware that sadly the episode got a lot of backlash from homophobes for this reason. F+C introduces a gender-swapped version of the main cast, who were very interesting to meet, and I especially love Cake. And I have to say that this episode really touched my young heart as a (then closeted) trans kid, and it really hits different to watch it now for the first time since I've now been living as female full-time for so many years, and who still hasn't really had a boyfriend yet.
However, I do have kind of mixed feelings about the ending where both Fionna and Cake start talking with admiration about the "Ice King", describing him as "the hottest hottie", and it's then revealed that the entire story was all a very weird fanfic written by the Ice King. I am aware that there is more detail later on about the existence of Fionna and Cake's world but I don't know what these details are and don't want to be spoiled on them.
    • My least favourite episode was Paper Pete, because I found it largely boring and low-key gross in parts, didn't like any of the new characters introduced, didn't feel it had a good moral, and felt bad for Jake who just wanted to study his girlfriend's heritage in peace, thus I found Finn's behaviour selfish and unreasonable.
    • I thought Conquest of Cuteness was an okay episode, but not the best as a season premiere.
    • Memory of a Memory was a great episode with an engaging story with a great plot twist. I enjoyed seeing Marceline get further development to her character and backstory. I did find the scene with baby Finn a bit weird and off-putting though.
    • Too Young was a fantastic episode. I loved seeing Bubblegum in her younger form, and her interactions with Finn. This episode is also the debut of the Earl of Lemongrab, who is an extremely iconic and entertaining character, and I adored seeing him deliver his first "UNACCEPTABLE!!!" In my opinion, this episode definitely should've been the season premiere.
However, I do feel a little dissappointed that the "Bubblegum is de-aged into a 13 year old" dilemma was resolved within a single episode having been the big cliffhanger from the season 2 finale, and a part of me wishes we'd gotten to see more of young Bubblegum.
    Wonder Woman
    Wonder Woman
    • The Monster I found a relatively weaker episode, for some reason I can remember it more than most episodes from when I saw it as a kid, probably I saw it several times I guess.
    • Wizard Battle was fairly entertaining and a decent debut for Abracadaniel, however I don't like how the prize for winning the competition is a form of physical contact with a female character, that feels kinda gross to me to be frank.
    • The Creeps was a very fun mystery episode, with an engaging plot, and ends on a mysterious cliffhanger which leaves me eager to find out more in future seasons.
    • From Bad to Worse was a brilliant, captivatingly dramatic zombie episode and a great sequel to the season 1 premiere, Slumber Party Panic.
    • No One Can Hear You was an extremely strange and confusing episode, but I guess I kind of enjoyed it.
    • Thank You was a very heartwarming episode which I remember well from my childhood, it makes me feel nostaglic and I'm not sure I remember the reason but I remember that this episode made me feel a sense of closeness and gratitude to my dad in connection to some of the time we'd spend together at weekends when I was younger.
    • Holly Jolly Secrets was an excellent two-part Christmas special, and though it feels weird to watch a Christmas special in May I wasn't going to wait.
I also think it's very interesting how this episode is the first to reveal Ice King's backstory as a man named Simon Petrikov who was given magical ice powers but also driven to insanity, slowly becoming the Ice King, and causing his wife Betty to leave him. Though Ice King's only reaction to Finn and Jake uncovering his backstory is feeling embarassed he used to wear glasses.
    • Ghost Princess was a really interesting episode which expands on the titular character who previously had only been seen in minor appearances. It has a really good plot, starting off with an intriguing mystery before having a massive plot-twist mid-episode.
    • Dad's Dungeon was a very fun episode giving us more insight into Finn and Jake's dad, and the song Jake makes by remixing his dad's tapes unironically slaps.
    • Incendium was a pretty good season 3 finale - I'd say better than season 1's but not quite as good as season 2's. This time, we're back to a 1-parter season finale, but that's okay. This episode is a good debut to Flame Princess - a character I remember being quite a big fan of when I was younger - showcasing the cute, romantic, and curious sides of her personality as well as the angry and powerful side of her, as well as introducing the Flame King, Flambo, and the Fire Kingdom as a whole. I really enjoyed Jake's whimsical behaviour in this episode, such as him using his stretchy powers to pretend Finn was there before pretend-Finn gets mad and attacks Jake. I also thought All Gummed Up Inside / All Warmed Up Inside was a good song. Overall, I think this was a great episode to wrap up season 3 and I look forward to seeing more of Flame Princess in future episodes!
Hey Green Arrow check the post here from yesterday found an article on feeding dogs and cats meatless diets you should look at it.
Hi everyone, I just finished Season 2 of Adventure Time on my DVD collection. I enjoyed it a lot, and more than season 1, which was already great. Here are my thoughts:
    • My favourite episodes were Guardians of Sunshine and To Cut a Woman's Hair. The former since as a video game fan it was awesome to see an episode themed around video games and to see Finn and Jake in a bizzare yet interesting new visual style. The latter because the premise was hilariously bizzare and the episode was full of fun scenes with Finn trying to get hair from various princesses. I also loved the ending where
Finn finally gets hair from Princess Bubblegum, but it turns out her hair is actually literal bubblegum, so Finn is revealed to have epic long blonde hair and gives it up to the witch because he's a hero, but she plans to use it for evil, but then trips on it. However, I did find the scene with Princess Beautiful to be a bit too morbid for my liking.
    • My least favourite episode was Slow Love, it wasn't bad but I found it less enjoyable than others, and
I guess I wasn't a fan of how it comes off to me as suggesting that romances between different races/species aren't meant to be even if that probably wasn't the intent. I also found some of the pickup lines pretty cringe and some of the scenes involving the slime a little gross.
    • I thought Loyalty to the King was a decent season premiere, and do vaguely remember it from when I was a kid.
    • It Came From the Nightosphere was a great episode and a cool debut for Marceline's dad, as well as great progression for Marceline's character and her relationship with Finn following on from Henchman in season 1.
    • The Eyes was a very weird episode but a fairly funny one too, and I definitely didn't see the twist at the end coming!
    • Crystals Have Power was an ok episode, and I'm glad that the bizzare ending of Tree Trunks from season 1 was finally explained and followed up on.
    • The Real You was a fantastic and nostalgic episode, with very cool dimensional bubbles and a great moral about how being true to yourself is more important than trying to impress others.
    • Susan Strong was a very interesting episode which builds on the lore of the series as it reveals that Finn is one of the very few remaining humans to the point he's never met any others.
However, the ending reveals that the "humans" Finn met are not actually humans, with the exception of Susan for whom it's not revealed and left on a cliffhanger.
    • Mystery Train is a fun episode where Finn turns 13, and it reminds me a lot of MLP:FiM "MMMystery on the Friendship Express", which is also a "murder"-mystery style episode set on a train in an animated kids' show.
    • The Limit was an excellent and fairly nostalgic episode, with an interesting premise about Jake using his powers to help navigate a maze but his stretchy powers have a limit and he pushes himself too far. I also really liked the ending where
the Hot Dog Knights and Jake waste their wishes but Finn uses his smarts to wish for the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, whom he then tames and has use its own wish to save Jake and the Hot Dog Knights, then escapes.
This episode has a very good moral about how you shouldn't let peer pressure make you do things that aren't safe, healthy, or comfortable for you.
    • The season finale, Mortal Folly and Mortal Recoil, is the first two-parter of Adventure Time so far, and I enjoyed it a lot despite finding it very weird and confusing at times (especially part 2). It's a very dramatic epsiode which develops the lore of Adventure Time's world a lot, introduces a very threatening villain, and very much sets up for the third season. I definitely appreciate it feeling like a true finale as opposed to Gut Grinder which was very underwhelming for the first season's finale. I really disliked Ice King in this though,
Particularly his carelessness being entirely responsible for Princess Bubblegum being dropped in the Lich's well, and his creepy behaviour of kidnapping her and wanting to marry her and trying to get Finn - a 13 year old - to bless that for some reason while getting in the way of his very important mission of stopping the Lich, and especially when he shows Finn and Jake he's written her name all over his arms and legs, that was yuck.
I also liked that they kept the continuity around Finn's age since he was 12 in Tree Trunks and had a birthday in Mystery Train, and they referenced Billy from His Hero.

That's all for my thoughts on season 2! Overall, I really feel like I'm enjoying Adventure Time and that the series is really picking up and developing its lore now. I'm looking forward to season 3 a lot!
Hey MiracleDinner I was wondering, do you have any pets? I have a Cavapoo named Sophie and she is so cute. I also had two dogs and a cat. They lived long lives, but they've sadly passed away by now.
Ok dumb question but why do you like vegan food so much? And how did you get into it or are you just naturally a vegan?
Hey Miracledinner, I was wondering-what did you personally think of Maud Pie, one of Pinkie Pie's sisters, on Friendship Is Magic? I didn't dislike her, but she was very stoic and EXTREMELY serious and almost emotionless; I personally found her a bit boring LOL.

@Tepig I know; it's ironic how she's the total opposite of her. Can't wait to hear what MiracleDinner thinks too though.

I like Maud a lot. I concur that her obsessive love of rocks coupled with her deadpan personality is iconic and hilarious and gives her character plenty of charm, especially in contrast to her sister Pinkie. It's also wholesome how Pinkie and Maud care for each other so much in spite of their vast differences.

@Green Arrow I mean she probably does feel great emotion at times but it doesn't really show on her face. Some people are kind of like that.
Hi everyone, I just finished Season 1 of Adventure Time. Overall, I enjoyed it very much and don't think AT has any bad episodes so far. I don't have time for a fully in depth review of each episode but did want to give some thoughts:
    • My favourite episode was Rainy Day Daydream, since it's a highly nostalgic childhood favourite of mine with a very fun premise with lots of cool scenes, and with a compelling moral that our creativity is a wonderful thing and makes each of us unique.
    • My least favourite episode was The Witch's Garden, because I found it too weird and off-putting, especially Jake's man-baby form and Gary the Mermaid Queen, and I didn't really like the moral. While it's not bad outright, it gives me the most mixed feelings.
    • I thought Slumber Party Panic was a very fun episode and a great series premiere.
    • I thought Tree Trunks was okay, but it has an extremely confusing ending and I hope we'll get an explanation for that in the next season since we don't see Tree Trunks again in season 1.
    • I also thought The Enchiridion was a great episode, and it's interesting it was the first episode written although it ended up actually being the fifth episode.
    • I found Ricardio the Heart Guy a bit weird but still an okay episode.
    • I liked My Two Favourite People and it's Rainicorn's first major appearance. It's quite funny how the episode has some jokes that I didn't get because I don't speak Korean, and only found out after looking up a translation.
    • I thought Wizard was a superb episode, probably my 2nd favourite so far, as it's also one I remember from childhood, and it's full of lots of cool magical abilities that Finn and Jake gain. It has good morals too, like don't sign up to dodgy schemes which promise free stuff, and how rejecting the rules/status quo can solve problems.
    • Evicted was an okay debut for Marceline, one of my favourite characters from the show, and I liked the song, but I didn't like how this episode portrays her as being so mean to Finn and Jake.
    • I liked NEPTR's debut in What Is Life and thought it had a compelling story.
    • Dungeon was an excellent episode. It's interesting how they specifically mention "11 minutes" which seems to be a 4th wall break to how long AT episodes are.
    • Henchman was a pretty good sequel to Evicted, and a much better portrayal of Marceline, however I still don't like how she's so mean at the start.
    • I thought His Hero was a decent episode but have mixed feelings about the handling of the moral, because it's true that your idols can be dissappointing and you shouldn't always listen to your elders, but I think the episode should have made it clear violence was only okay because it was necessary to defend innocent people who can't defend themselves, rather than appearing to suggest violence is in some people's nature and that's fine.
    • I thought Gut Grinder was an okay episode, but I would have preferred a stronger episode to send off season 1, such as Rainy Day Daydream, Dungeon, or Wizard.
That's it for my thoughts on season 1! I'm definitely looking forward to starting season 2!
Hey MiracleDinner, I have good news. It looks like a seventh season of Gumball IS coming out, but we will have to wait a while. It's coming somewhere between late 2025, and early 2026. Probably the former, but we'll see. So, yeah. It'll probably come out sometime towards the end of this year or at the beginning of next year.

Oh yeah, one other good thing-apparently the show isn't as "hated" as I thought. Opinions of it are divided. A lot of people like it, and there's also a lot of criticism of it. But I don't think it's a bad show, and I'm glad not EVERYONE hates it and it actually has a lot of fans.

If you are referring to the second image, that's just parts of the bread being a darkened because I cooked the sandwich by frying it in plant butter.

Well I've started watching my Adventure Time DVDs and I'm very much having fun and loving the nostalgia so far! Tonight I watched the first 4 episodes of season 1; Slumber Party Panic, Trouble in Lumpy Space, Prisoners of Love, and Tree Trunks I think they were all great!
It's Adventure Time! I just found a brand new DVD box set for all seasons of Adventure Time for a really good price! This is going to take me a while to watch through all the episodes (~280 x ~10 minutes = 2800 minutes = almost 48 hours, or very approximately the equivalent of around 5 seasons of MLP:FiM, but it's going to be super fun and extremely nostalgic! Plus, now I can finally get to watch the show in order which means it will make way more sense than when I watched random episodes on TV here and there as a kid, since AT is a continuity focused show unlike something like Teen Titans Go. I'm excited for this adventure a lot!
I tasted coconut milk for the first time today, and to be honest, I'm really not a fan. Out of all the plant milks I've tried so far, this one's my least favourite.
    Wonder Woman
    Wonder Woman
@Knuckles The Echidna I disliked the taste of coconut milk enough that I don't think I'd use it for ANYTHING, not just straight up drinking - and its taste is quite strong so I'd imagine I would get that taste if I had it in cereal.

I like oat milk as well but also feel that oat is a bit overhyped, like I think it's good, but it seems to be WAY more popular than the others right now based on my anecdotal experience, when in my opinion it's not my favourite - my favourite is soya milk - and there are some other plant milks that are great as well and don't deserved to be so overshadowed by oat milk.

Anyway, and perhaps more imporantly, PLEASE Knuckles take care to ensure that the oat milk you are buying is certified gluten-free, because most products containing oats are by default not gluten-free due to a risk of cross-contamination with gluten in harvesting, processing, etc. This is one of if not the biggest reasons that oat milk is not my favourite plant milk and it's an issue I wish people would recognise more than they do, I've even known some gluten-free friends who have gotten ill by drinking oat milk because they didn't realise it had gluten in it. Even if you aren't feeling unwell it's always worth making sure that your oat milk is certified gluten-free.

@Princess Zatanna Oh it totally is; my mom made sure of it and it says "Gluten Free" on the carton.

By the way I just started a really humorous private conversation with you about something funny.

Also happy 6th anniversary to DCSHG G2 since #SweetJustice premiered on IWD 2019!!
Hey Princess Zatanna want to see something hilarious? The YouTube channel "GameOverContinue" made a compilation of all the funny "Game Over" screens for Totally Spies on Game Boy Advance. Do you want me to send you them? You'll likely laugh if you like that sort of thing, but then again if you don't like seeing your favorite characters getting defeated even in a game you might not want to watch and that's ok.

LOL here they are (sent the wrong link before; it was for the first game-those ones aren't nearly as funny):

Rest in peace to Gene Hackman and his wife and his dog. I always liked Gene's performance as Lex Luthor in Superman (1978) and its sequel, and I loved how they referenced him by name in Teen Titans Go to the Movies. I'm glad Gene got to live to a good age of 95 at least.
    Mermaid Man

Yeah, it's really unfortunate that the three of them died so sudden and that Hollywood has lost a legend with Gene's passing. I do agree that reaching the age of 95 is quite the achievement though, and I hope that his legacy will continue to aspire future generations of actors, actresses, and other performers alike.
Hi friends, just wanted to give some updates to how my 22nd birthday went and also wanted to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday today. I'm honoured to have received so many good wishes and I appreciate you folks all so much. I know I've said it before, but this community means a lot to me, and I really enjoy my friendships with you.

    So updates about my birthday:

    • For breakfast I had orange juice, oat latte, oat chocolate milk, and a Lotus Biscoff Bagel.
    • I rewatched "Happy Birthday Zee" for the second time which was quite fun, it's not quite my favourite Zatanna episode in DCSHG but it is still pretty good and it definitely fits today! I also submitted the song in it to Marioboards Year of Music which I'm glad I got to do on my birthday!
    • I did have an exam in the morning unfortunately, but I got 100% and didn't have any work after that, so that's great!
    • I watched TTG&DCSHG: Mayhem in the Multiverse which is now my new favourite movie of all time, see my post for more details.
    • For lunch I had homemade pizza with vegan cheese (Violife again, like my Christmas Pizza) it was actually a fair bit of work since I didn't have time for it to rise and also made dough for only 1 pizza whereas I usually do 2, so it was a bit of trial and error but it was delicious - if very filling - in the end!
    • I got a little bit bored/lonely in the afternoon because my parents and siblings weren't at home until the evening, but I did keep myself busy writing my glowing review of Mayhem in the Multiverse!
    • For afternoon snack I had an oat chocolate milkshake which tasted very nice and was excellent value at only £1.50 at the Co-Op
    • I rewatched Pinkie Pride for the first time in probably 1-2 years with my mother, which was lots of fun. I forgot how much I love this episode and its songs.
    • I also kept up my 4 year running tradition of rewatching the MLP "Happy Birthday to You" short, this time I also tried the German dub which was good too.
    • For dinner I had a steak (soy-protein based, don't worry I haven't given up being vegan!) and chips with brocolli. The steak was really delicious if expensive, easily the best steak I've had since going vegan and possibly even before.
    • My cake was a vegan chocolate cake which was delicious, and we had gluten-free muffins too so that nobody was left out.
    • My presents were:
      • I am Nut Okay high-end artisanal vegan cheeses based on cashew nuts, which I haven't eaten yet but am super excited too.
      • The Lego Movie 2 DVD which I saw on my 18th birthday on rent and haven't rewatched since, so it's great I can now rewatch it whenever I want and will definitely do so this weekend.
      • New shoes
      • A DCSHG comic book, unfortunately it is G1 not G2 I guess my family didn't understand the difference and that it's only G2 I'm a fan of, but I'm still looking forward to reading it and I may still enjoy it a lot, as I still haven't actually tried G1 before.
      • A new speaker for my PC.
    • As I now only have 1 hour left before my birthday ends, I will go get myself a hot chocolate and read Ever After High books until after midnight, then I'll go to sleep. But don't worry, I've taken Friday and the weekend off too, so the celebration shall go on!

Overall I'd say my 22nd birthday went amazingly and was my 2nd best birthday ever, but it doesn't quite beat my 18th on account of 1) having to sit a stressful exam even if it did go well in the end and 2) being bored/lonely in the afternoon before I got to spend time with family.

Good night everyone, and thank you all once again for making my 22nd birthday a happier day!
Hey Zatanna I don't know if I ever talked to you about this, but I was disappointed with "Lightyear" for one reason-they completely strayed from the original lore. Heck, bronies and pegasisters were beating up on MLP G5 for it "destroying" the lore and I honestly personally never cared much about that, but with "Lightyear", it disappointed me because since they set it in a completely different universe and didn't at all conform to the original story as talked about in Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and seen in the "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" series I grew up with, it just didn't feel like a Toy Story movie at all. With that, I was actually really disappointed the original lore was just thrown out the window, something that surprised even me (that I would be upset about that). Like, Buzz Lightyear decided to keep JUST his team as the one force defending the galaxy unlike in the original lore when he had a whole team of Space Rangers aboard the Star Command space station deployed all throughout the galaxy so it wasn't just him and his friends, and on top of that, Zurg wasn't Buzz Lightyear's evil father-he was just some villain that left his robotic suit and his robots and stuff floating in space aboard a sinister space station or a spaceship (I can't remember which), and the villain was a Space Ranger that turned bad instead and donned that armor. That-made no sense to me.

Hi Miles, I've seen Lightyear before and while I moderately enjoyed it I definitely respect and understand your opinion. I personally saw it as a non-canon spinoff to Toy Story so I wasn't hugely bothered by the inconsistencies in the lore as I saw it more as its own thing. But if it had been closer to the Toy Story movies I likely would've enjoyed it a lot more, yes. I don't think Zurg was ever *actually* Buzz's dad though, I just took that as a reference to Star Wars. It's been a few years since I saw Lightyear so my memory of it is a little rusty tbh.
