Awards Killing Game 2x2: Moon of Hope (Game Thread) - Day 3 - The Rat, the Bat, and the Dragon

Does the eye in the wall react to anything? Hmm... I'm not sure I can hear it like I can Fascia, though.

If there's a way to examine the bottom of the Canyon, are there unwanted things down there?
You wave at the eye and it doesn't follow your movements. You try poking the eye, noting theres a small lens in front of it. It blinks and vanishes for a bit, then reappears looking a bit teary. The damaged wall hole it occupies is pretty crude, but it seems it fits nicely in there.

Tanner floats down into the canyon and reports there's a smashed machine of some kind. From what he can tell from a distance, it has a few devices on its arms. He refutes any attempt you make to get him to haul it up.

Someone told me to hold up a lighter on the smokehouse, I'm sure nothing will happen and I won't get hurt in any way if I do this

In the name of... Research, I guess I'll... light a match and throw it into the Smokehouse.
Kyeh, I don't think this is a good idea...

At least the Kitchen's still flooded...

On second thought, that moron can do it.

Nothing happened!

Are there marks on the inside of the Hollow Tree, as if someone was climbing it?

The Garage and Metal Laboratory - do those have any cloth rags missing?

Something else... hm. Do the coal piles in the Pit Mine or Round House minecarts seem dug through?

There's a few skid marks on the tree's inside.

Neither of them sources the rag that is missing.

The coal pile in the Pit Mine seems jostled and touched.

Shine a darklight on the wall eyeball
You shine a darklight. The eye stares back at you.

Fascia thinks... we should check the Maintenance Hub and Hydro Generators for anything out of place just to be sure. And the Cellar, too.

That eye, as well. Does it react when bringing the burnt cloth and bomb parts near it?

There's some duct tape and a bunch of lens down in the outflow channel that flows from the Sewer, in the Hydro Generators.

The maintenance hub is missing welding gear. Otherwise, you don't notice anything of real significance.

The eye stares aggressively at them, that's what it does.

lyranewneutral_na9lkg.png

Let's take a closer look at those lenses. Where'd they come from? Telescope, maybe?
You look at the lenses. It appears they match the lens placed over the Eye in the wall.

Is the Nautical Exhibit telescope missing its lens?
The Nautical Exhibit telescope is not missing its lens, but is both dented and the lens is cracked.

Do the lenses have any particular shape or tint? What happens when I look through them?

Is the duct tape burned or singed at all?
They have an odd, ghostly tint to them. It gives you a weird vibe.

Looking through them blocks your vision. Seems like they cannot be penetrated by visible light.

The roll of duct tape appears to be undamaged.

Fellas, you know we're voting for the killers, right? It's not actually the 'sexiest stache' award, haha.

Ohhh, that's...that's a lotta votes. Oh you guys are serious about this.

Lash_Critical.png

Well, that's fine; the Lash doesn't like others taking credit for his work. Thaaaat being said..."a cowardly attempt", "whoever did this is going to super hell"...ohhhh-hoho, you want me to play the heel, don'tcha? Bring it on, I'm used to being hated.

I know you all loved Frosty. Truth be told, I respected him too - that was a dude who got shit done. But legends don't get to choose how they die. Sometimes they go out in a blaze of glory, sometimes they choke to death on their own vomit in a strip club bathroom. And sometimes, they - wha-ping! - get bashed over the head with a telescope and thrown in front of the pain train. So spare me your sermons about this being a scumbag kill, like there's so much honor in blowing a guy up with an improvised bomb. You know what we call guys who fight with honor in the Bear Pit? Losers.

Lash_Gloat.png

But hey, it's not all bad. You bookworms are pretty good at this whole investigating thing - good enough to survive without the Lash's guidance. I know, I know, hold your tears. I left y'all a li'l present in the fountain; couldn't get the damn thing to work myself. I think it changes shape based on its owner or something, but it didn't actually function like a grappling hook, so it might just be cosmetic. Maybe one of you nerds can figure it out.

Oh, and Tan-Man...do your worst. I'm ready for it. But you? You gonna grow some balls or just keep letting people use you forever?

lulu_01.png

Good bye, Lash. Despite the murder, I don't hold it against you, considering we're all puppets in King Blocky Boo's game right now. And Victor. I apologize for voting for you.

With one swoop, Lash and Victor are hurled into the same void through their two portraits, crashing down on an unfamiliar wooden platform. The spotlights flicker on one by one, revealing that they're on a huge soundstage, ready to perform for an audience of one. The familiar-to-Victor but unfamiliar-to-Lash figure of Rimi Ushigome.

And judging by the scoreboard behind her, she's about to judge which of them should live and which should die.

Naturally, THE LASH knows exactly what he should do here. He immediately starts putting the smooth moves on. All of them. The Lash Flex. The Lash Shirt Explosion. The Lash I Summon My Dinosaur Suit and Show You How Cool It Is. The whole lineup! Victor, on the other hand, has a lifetime of tormenting idols, not being one. All he has to his name is an electric guitar, and as the disappointed frown of Rimi makes clear, he's not very good at it. His nerves get the better of him as he watches his score plummet while Lash's skyrockets.

Eventually, the scores are finalized. Victor 0, Lash 101. With a thumbs down, Rimi sends the stage opening below Victor, and he falls spiralling into a mess of traps below, all set up by Ratigan. An anvil smashes him in the head, a cleaver takes off a hand, and then a cannon fires, launching him into the distance. He lands right on the edge of a cliff, shaking his head, only for a runaway robot to crash into him, both robot and Victor falling to their doom.

But as for Lash, Rimi gives him a thumbs up! His grand prize is an all-expenses-paid train trip to the Grandport Spa. Happening right this second! Lash hears a loud horn behind him, before a train smashes through the stage, slamming right into him and pinning him to the front. Winter leans out the window and tips his train engineer's hat, blowing the horn again before putting the throttle into maximum. Lash is not taking "on the front of a train at 120 MPH" very well, but he slowly starts to get his bearings, beginning to crawl up...

Before he looks over his shoulder. The Grandport Spa is right there, and it's on the edge of the sea, as any good spa would be. The train isn't slowing down at all, and Lash finds himself smashed through wall after wall after wall, before the train stops directly at the edge of the ocean. Of course, Lash still has all the momentum when the train stops on a dime, and he's sent flying into the ocean.

Despite Rimi, Ratigan, and Winter all watching through their telescopes, none of them saw where exactly he splashed down in the end. But they could all confirm he didn't come back.

In reality, Victor and Lash simply collapse, their souls sealed into two portraits.

You've always had an uncanny knack for getting in good with a place. You just know buildings, and they know you, as you set up a particular home away from home... and you can often get a little extra compared to everyone else. Maybe that's why this particular Gaddget seemed to... fall into your lap. Wherever you set up, you already know one thing - your room is your castle, and if you have to, you'll make it your fortress as well.

Abilities:
  • Prior to the game's map being revealed, you will be able to lock one room of your choice from a selection we provide. You will be given a physical keyto this room, and you will become the room's sole "guardian", which grants you the following perks:
    • Access to the room by using your key. You can lock/unlock the room when it's in your possession.
    • The room's name will not be made public until your death.
    • Heightened strength and agility while inside the room.
    • Knowledge of everything that occurs within the room during the night, even when you aren't inside it.
    • You can rest within the room without suffering the effects of fatigue, functionally making it a second bedroom.
  • Your Gaddget will provide you with one key to the room you nominate. A second key will be hidden behind a puzzle in the complex, and can be found by anyone. Obtaining both keys will:
    • Allow you to remotely open and close the door from anywhere on the map.
    • Prevent anyone from entering the room until your death without your permission.
    • Allow you to share your "guardian" perks listed above with anyone you nominate.
  • However, should someone obtain the other key to this room, you will know if they enter the room at any point, and this will alert you to their identity. What you do with this knowledge... is up to you.
  • Ghostly interactions:
    • Players passing by the room will notice if its door is open.
    • While no one is inside the room and the door is locked, the door and the room's walls will become indestructible and unbreachable, even by ghosts, until the door is unlocked again. Scanning the door with darklight will reveal its ghostly seal.
      • The exception to this if the night ends with any relevant murder evidence in the room. The door will remain forced open, and this will be announced to players.
  • Weaknesses: You have no extra weaknesses, but keep in mind your Forbidden Action below.
  • Forbidden Action: You cannot do anything that would render your key or the spare key impossible to obtain, such as destroying it entirely. You are the room's guardian, and destroying the only means of accessing it wouldn't be very guardian-like. This also means that you die if both keys are lost forever.

He had chosen the Toolshed for his role, which is now fully accessible on the map and replaces the ??? Room.

📠 Ultimate RoboDino Suit
As part of Gadd's research into ancient ghosts, he turned his studies to fossils and ancient lifeforms at one point, combining them with a mysterious polymorphic gel he insists is the "fourth element" or something. Inspired by dreams he had while eating too much cheese pizza and watching sci-fi movies late at night, your Gaddget is multifaceted, taking the form of a collection of dry bones submerged in a briefcase full of strange amniotic ferrofluid, granting you their undead powers on command.

It is simply........ a robot dinosaur suit.

Abilities - Ultimate RoboDino Suit
  • You have a suit of robotic dinosaur parts at your disposal, perfect for causing prehistoric destruction in your wake.
  • At any point, you can summon and wear one piece of your robot dinosaur suit. You can only wear one robodinosaur suit piece at a time. Each piece remains equipped until you swap to another piece, or unsummon the suit entirely. There is also a small delay when swapping suit pieces, meaning you can't change them out urgently.
  • You can only use a maximum of two pieces per night.
  • While equipping one piece of the suit, that part of your body has extra defense against direct attacks.
  • Dinosaur Skull: A robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex helmet which disguises your head entirely. While equipped, you can breathe one burst of hot, ghostly plasma fire for up to 3 seconds to melt a medium-sized object. Or, you can chomp down on anything, including metal, to leave a large bite in it.
  • Dinosaur Claw: A pair of Therizinosaurus arms with claws of sharpened steel that can be used to slash with precision and power. You can also use them to scale walls, at a maximum distance of one floor vertically per night, leaving behind large gashes as you do.
  • Dinosaur Femur: A pair of hydraulic Velociraptor legs that grant you a burst of speed and agility.
  • Dinosaur Footprint: A pair of reinforced Ankylosaurus feet that allow you to disguise your footprints, or anchor yourself firmly into the ground with its spikes. Anchoring yourself also grants you Ankylo armor to reinforce your body, letting it tank hits momentarily.
  • Dinosaur Tailbone - A prehensile tail that acts as a functional third limb equipped with a Thagomizer and all of its Thagomizing powers. It possesses extra strength and flexibility compared to your normal arms.
  • Ghostly interactions:
    • As these are pseudo-ghostly abilities granted to you by the suit, they cannot harm players directly, but they can affect objects and ghosts.
    • While using these powers, a glow will appear around your body under dark-light, with particular concentration on the piece of the suit you're using. Otherwise, all mechanical components of your suit are completely visible to players.
    • While using the Dinosaur Skull's ghostly plasma fire, the heat does not transfer to other objects or cause natural fires, it simply melts the object being targeted. This information will be evolved on checks.
  • Weaknesses: While equipping one piece of the suit, the other parts of your body are much weaker to attacks, excluding when your Ankylo armor is in effect.
  • Forbidden Action: You cannot use any part of the suit to disguise or mutilate a victim's body. Your bones and their bones have to remain out of contact at all times, lest the amniotic ferrofluid in your Gaddget get corrupted.

For Case 3 - The Rat, the Bat, and the Dragon, you were...

Incorrect in the case of Ratigan, and Correct in the case of Winter!

CASE 3 - END

Twilight Phase is currently active. You have 24 hours to investigate lore and solve puzzles.

I would like to go to the Solarium and investigate the sundial, and see if there's a way to manipulate the sunlight while it's still out. I want to see if I can get it to point towards Pluto

I would like to go to the Solarium and investigate the sundial, and see if there's a way to manipulate the sunlight while it's still out. I want to see if I can get it to point towards Pluto
You examine the Sundial in the Solarium.

There are 12 planetary symbols around the ring on the floor, with a single pedestal in the middle. You note that in the twilight, the sun is beginning to set, but you can still faintly make out the shadow pointing to the Sol symbol. You take your darklight out and force the dial to face Pluto instead. The symbol for Pluto glows.

A holographic projection beams from the central pedestal, revealing a 3D diagram of the Ghost Complex. You spot a red dot by the Cliffside, a red dot in the Solarium, a red dot in Vigil's mausoleum near the Graveyard, and a red dot in the Crypt.
