HelpDesk / Android Pulse sensor in Processing
« on: March 19, 2018, 07:29:54 AM »
Hi all,

For my final year project, I'm looking into creating an app which features a pulse sensor with Processing. I'm looking towards getting the app uploaded to my Galaxy S8 so that I can use the pulse sensor on the back of the phone. I already know how to get the Processing sketches up onto my Android phone, it's finding information on the pulse sensor itself.

I've been searching around to find information relating to this, but nul points. Can't find a single thing relating to what I need, which is annoying. Maybe I'm searching wrong or something, I was just wondering if anybody had any information relating to this field? If so, is there a site I can go to in order to find what I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance.

Legendary physicist Stephen Hawking has died aged 76. A proper legend this guy, may he rest in peace.

2018 / Dad Needs Your Pixels (Neptune's Presentation Sign-Ups)
« on: February 26, 2018, 10:33:21 AM »
Quote from: Neptune, in chat
"I'm like the grumpy dad. I'm like your grumpy dad"

After the tragic failure of last year's comic, I feel like time will be better on my side this year. University will be all finished up, giving me loads of time to work on the comics.

I expect that I'll have a hell of a large comic planned for this year, possibly going for two, maybe even three awards presentations.

Please, sign up here.
  • Just post in Bold text to sign up. Make sure to link your sprites if you have any.
  • If you don't have sprites, please specify what you want either in your sign-up post, or in a private message. Due to time constraints, I cannot guarantee you will appear if you don't have sprites, but I will do my best. Unless inspiration sparks, you may only appear as a bit character.
  • If you don't know whether you've signed up in the past or not, but still want to appear, do feel free to sign up again. It helps refine which users definitely want to appear this year, and I'll refine the story lines based on this.
  • If you've already signed up for either my Awards Presentations or Neptune's Grand Adventures, you don't have to sign up again, as it's all part of the series.
  • If you have already signed up, but want confirmation on whether you're going to appear or not, feel free to post here or drop me a message so we can discuss further.
  • If you've signed up in the past, but don't want to appear in this awards comic, simply post with bold, red text, so that I can see it clearly. Please note: this does not mean you are dropping out of Neptune's Grand Adventures altogether, you'll need to specify that to me either in a PM or the Official Thread if you wish to do so.
  • If there's any concerns, dad's got you covered, just drop me a PM and we'll talk it through.

Have fun, and let's get it done! Happy 12th everyone!

Shocking news, one of my top bands. He had such a unique voice, and it is such a shame to lose him so young. Rest in peace.

Entertainment & Media / Garry Marshall has died
« on: July 20, 2016, 06:31:19 AM »
2016 has claimed another one. The creator of happy days, and director of films such as Pretty Woman and Valentines Day, has passed away.

While I'm not a fan of his directorial work, Happy Days will always be one of the most influential television shows of all time. Rest in Peace.

Entertainment & Media / Anton Yelchin has died at 27
« on: June 19, 2016, 07:46:34 PM »

Best known for portraying Chekov in the rebooted series of Star Trek. He was found pinned between his car and a mailbox by his friends.

I liked his acting, and it's a shame to see him go so young. RIP.

Entertainment & Media / Ronnie Corbett has died

If you didn't know who this guy was, he was a very funny comedian, one half of "The Two Ronnies"

Used to watch this guy all the time, it's a shame he's gone. Rest in Peace.

HelpDesk / Multiple WMI Provider Hosts open in processes
« on: March 09, 2016, 05:35:28 PM »
So there's this program in my processes called WMI Provider Host, which, every time I seem to look into my processes, seems to have added another program which looks and functions exactly the same as the others. It's bothering me quite a bit, and I can only seem to close one of them instead of all of them.

Picture for reference. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? I've tried searching online but found no results. Thanks in advance.

Entertainment & Media / RIP Sir Terry Wogan

Now to end this month, we've lost this british legend, a national treasure. Such a kind and wonderful man, may he rest in peace.

Please tell me that this is all over now. No more celebrity deaths, it's really depressing.

HelpDesk / Query about forum emails
« on: January 16, 2016, 11:15:45 AM »
So I just got two emails notifying me of personal messages

The only problem is that these messages came through years ago, and I've already seen them before hand

Is that something that happens regularly? is it something that can be fixed?

Entertainment & Media / let's talk about the next Bond film
« on: January 14, 2015, 06:32:51 AM »
it's called Spectre, named after that little organisation which you might remember from the old bond films that were the main villains and tried to kill bond and take over the world

according to wikipedia, bond gets a cryptic message, and he navigates several layers of spectre, all while fighting christoph waltz and drax the destroyer
can't forget about the subplot from skyfall returing, which is about the government questioning the viability of the 00 section

co-starring voldemort and jim moriarty from sherlock

it's coming out later this year, and directed by the same guy who did the previous bond film

so whaddya think?

Off-subject Discussion / this infuriates me

43 dogs dead in a suspected arson attack in manchester

That's literally the scummiest thing a person can do. That's a place for freaking homeless dogs. It's like blowing up a children's hospital, it's awful. Whoever did this should be locked in a burning room, see how they like it. Anus.

Fan Creations / Neptune's Grand Adventures - All New Series!
« on: August 16, 2014, 03:24:55 PM »

So like

I've had this as sort of a small little side project which will be home to any comics that I feel don't fit in with other comic series that I've been creating, originally a section on a page showcasing my artwork. Now, since I had a lot of fun making the Awards comic thingy, I've decided to integrate this as a proper comic series which will have comics out on special events, such as christmas, halloween, easter, the awards ceremony, what have you, but will also be a place where I can stick any comics that I make that aren't part of any specific comic series.

So this will basically comprise all of my Awards comics, so if you sign up here, you won't have to worry about signing up for my other comics. Legally I'm not allowed to accept sign-ups from the previous sign-up sheet for the awards comic, so if you were in that, you won't be in this, unless you sign up for it. Anybody who signed up for this comic before when it was still in the art archive will still be counted as appearing in this comic.

sound good? Alrighty-roo. If you want to sign up, just post a link to your sprites, post a link to any sprites you think will fit your character, or post a description of what your character will look like, and i'll sprite it for you.

i'll bump this topic every time a new update comes out, and i'll bump it three weeks before an awards ceremony, just to make sure you get the chance to sign up for the comic, should I be doing a presentation again.

So, that's that! Comic is hosted on Userpedia here, and I hope you enjoy!
