How'd you react if Bowser finds his true love?

Okay' let's cut the chase, it's less about shipping but obviously more the concept of the mainline. Bowser must keep admiring Peach so that he needs to frequently invade Mushroom Kingdom and interfere Mario and Peach's relationship. It's understandable why Nintendo would not agree to give Bowser his own romance.

Still, sometimes I find Bowser's fate... miserable, as he is doomed to never be able to have his own romantic moments like other main characters do, only because he needs to take charge of mainline premise. But some fans also love Bowser's character and think his "always being a failed love hunter" label is what makes him funny and comical, so it might be wrong to remove that label from him.

If we want to make it happen without interfering the premise, maybe a prophet like Merlon just comes out to tell that Bowser will meet his future spouse, just it would not conflict with current time where Bowser is still obsessed with Peach.

Do you prefer Bowser's current one-sided crush and oppose to see him develop a romance? Or you'd support it because it's what he really needs?

Honestly I don't think Bowser is doing that bad for himself despite his lack of luck in romance, I think he gets a lot of fulfillment from being a dad to junior and has a strange sense of enjoyment from his rivalry with Mario. It's important to note however that he's also a serial kidnapper and ruler of an invading evil empire, so even if he was miserable I wouldn't feel too bad for him.

I don't think Nintendo will give a partner to Bowser anytime soon as the simple character dynamics in the Mario games are really slow to change. I don't think that the Mario series will ever lean into romance that much, outside of light references to crushes, it's just not that kind of series to be honest.

While the topic is mostly about production aspect, you're right in story aspect that Bowser is tyrant and doesn't know how to develop a correct relationship. There is some warmth in his fatherhood, but he also has issues with his way of education.

Which is why Peach threw him into a slammer rather than dating agency. Storywise, only when he really learns the lesson does he deserves true love.

I wouldn't exactly describe Bowser as "miserable". While he's frustrated, he's too stubborn and cocky to ever acknowledge defeat. He'll be right back relishing in misery and chaos.
