The Megabrawl Mine:
Some Time after the last Megabrawl, many wayward archaeologists were curious to figure out how exactly the arena changed from an ancient temple to a suburban city overnight? Well they may have somewhat discovered there answer recently a secret passage was found that leads deep below the Arenas Surface that connects to a spew of interconnected underground areas from Tricky Temples to Mysterious Mineshafts to even full on ecosystems and as a Bonus many valuable artifacts have been found in said temple and mines just ripe for the takeing so now adventures hopeing to get rich quick Seek adventure or discover untold secrets venture down Into the temples levels but Currently the levels are being over run by a group of Bruteish Bounty Hunters Lead By Ceres The Scourge or Scourge for short and whats worse an anchient and seemingly powerful artifact of unknown origins is now ripe for the taking now it is up to Six Random Indeviduals to Venture Into into the mines and save the day and maybe even find some treasure along the way.
What is this?
The Megabrawl Mine is a new forum game inspired by Amusing Awards Artifact Adventure (AAAA) and Mario Boards Mega Brawl (MBMB). In this game, players will be separated into teams and tasked with exploring the Underground caverns located under the Megabrawl arena, where they will meet some colorful characters with quests that will help you out on your adventure alongside battleing a large array of foes that take many different shapes and sizes, there are four levels to explore.
  1. The Musical Mines: A Collection of Mineshafts Filled to the brim with musical instruments music notes and xlyophine rails the puzzles here are themed around music and so are the enemies The Late Cretaceous Composer Pinaosarus Claims this place as his new home and belives he deserves the spot light.
  2. The Grub Pit: This network of caverns is infested with bug creatures of all shapes and sizes the environment itself looks more organic than mineral, with infested dirt striking back when disturbed along side being constructed with layers of compact dung to form the walls of this Pest Palace and a thick cloud of bug Pheromones suffocates the air down here with it smells terrible however this place is perfect for Scourges Personal Pet Mothula who now rules as the biggest bug in dung domain.
  3. The Sun Temple: This Temple was used to harness the power of the sun and its god Umvuthi The Sun Bird, yet despite it currently being located underground somehow, there seems to be sunlight underneath the earth. This is due to an artificial sun that was created from sun stones they are litterd with sun and light beam puzzles that will help them get to Bright man who wishes to use the power of the artifical sun to become a bigger threat and help him preform more evil actions.
  4. The Ancient City: A Mysteryious place filled to the brim with both darkness and lost relics in this place the shadows move and those shadows are controlled by others Scourge wishes to find the anchient Artifact to harness its power for himself.
The goal, Is to venture into the caverns and claim the dangerous artifact before the villains do you progress to the next layer by beating the boss and obtaining there key, the gameplay here is a mix between investigative style games some light Puzzle action and simplified RPGs.

How does it work?
The game is split up into three rotating phases, continuing until the adventure has been finished and the final Boss has been defeated. The first Phase is...
  • Explore Phase/Battle Phase (24 hours) - During this phase, you can explore the level and its rooms a map will be presented to you to help you navigate. By posting in the game thread, you can examine areas more closely and interact with NPCs to get information from them and discover quests that may or may not give you tips and Items to help you on your journey. RP shenanigans with NPCs or other players are allowed, as long as it doesn't go over board otherwise have fun!. you can investigate the environment and make meaningful changes to it. Also, no sweeping (i.e., "Search every location for X" or "Ask every NPC about X"). However, if you encounter an unfriendly foe, you will battle them during the exploring phase battleing them Will NOT cause you to be thrusted to the next phase.
  • Action Phase (24-48 hours) - During this phase, you will choose a specific location in the respective level you are in and submit the actions you wish to perform there in your team PM to make progress on quests. Submissions don't need to be long, but if you need to explain something in a bit of detail then limit it to a paragraph. If two teams manage to complete a quest at the same time, the reward will be given to the team based on a coin flip. On the OTHER hand if you encounter or face off againts the Boss of the level the action phase will be replaced with a Battle phase in which you will use your characters stats and abilites to take down your foes character stats and battle mechanics are detailed later down the line, the battle phase will end once the foe is defeated or you perish to said foe.
  • Intermission (24 hours) - No player action required, this is just some buffer time for me to get results written up!
Phase lengths may be adjusted as the game progresses based on player feedback. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you think something is using too much or not enough time and please go easy on me this is my first community game so if you have complaints or ideas for what I should do next time dont hesitate to tell me.

This is not necessarily a "winner take all" game where the team who gets to the end and beats the final boss first wins and everyone else outright loses. To encourage continued participation, each team will instead be competing for a leaderboard ranking based on how far you got into the underground caverns. Additionally, there maybe some achievements you can obtain aswell I won't say how to get them but some can be obtained while playing! These won't impact the final score in the long run, but they're meant to give a little extra recognition to those who go out of there way to do certain things in the game so get hunting!

Now you maybe wondering "whats all this talk about battleing and getting far enough?" well you see for this game your chosen characters will have designated stats chosen by you the players so heres how this works.
Max number of stats you can have in each of the four categorys is 10 BUT you CANT have 10 for all your stats infact all players will have this basic stat sheet-

Hes never gonna give you up or let you down hes never gonna go around and desert you hes never gonna make you cry or say goobye hes never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

You will also be given 4 Additional points you can add to any stat you wish however if you wish to add more stats to another stat say you want to add +1 to strength even though you added 4 to speed you would need to remove a stat point from one then add it to the one you want. And you may also intentionally remove points without distributing them if you so wish.
Strength: 9/10 +4 (Additional points)
Inteligence: 4/10 -1 (Point)
Speed: 6/10 +1 (Point used from Intelgence)
Hp: 5/10
So to put it simply its simmilar to the Fallout series S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat system.
But ok thats fine and all but what is this for anyways? well when you enter a Battle phase with an enemy or boss these stats will give you a better or worse chance at succeding in said battles alongside other smaller tasks so heres what each one does
Strength: how strong an attack will be and how easy can you lift heavy things.
Inteligence: Mainly used for puzzles but people with high enough inteligence 8+ can tattle a foe amd see there stats.
Speed: How likely you are to doge an enemy attack and just how fast you are.
how much damage you will do and how much an enemy will do to you will depend on RNG but you are able to influence said RNG with your stats.
Strength: 6, RNG Number 14- 14+1= 15 (Note this number is influenced by how high or low your stats past 5 influence the RNG while negavite stats like 1-2 influence it negatively.)
the range of success to failure is D20 rules 20+ Critical Success, 1- Total failure. HOWEVER your special abiltes are NOT influenced by stats but dont take this as an excuse to god mod yourself besides thats just not cool and of you DO atempt to do something like that you WILL be kicked from the game. Once your HP reaches Zero thats the end of your jorney so BECAREFUL!

Before I let you sign up, I need to be upfront about something very important! Because of the nature of this game, I need to be fairly strict about player activity. Failure to participate doesn't just affect you, it actively hurts your team. If you miss submitting for an Action Phase without prior notice, I will replace you with someone else ASAP and work on remediation for the rest of your team. Basically, if you don't think you can commit to staying somewhat active, please don't sign up for this game.

With that out of the way, I'm looking for 6 players to get this game going players will be seperated into teams such as: 3 Teams of 2, 2 Teams of 3 or if you all want to one big team of 6! make sure to message not only me but also the other players who YOU want to team up with. You can also sign up to be a replacement player. Sign-ups will be open until , and the game will begin the next day. If a player you wish to team up with is not availabe you will be paired up with another player (Or you could choose to go solo if that fits your fancy) so first come first serve get your partners before its too late.

Special Skills: Can travel digitally through most devices in close proximity and can take over devices, including robots. Unable to be attacked physically unless in a host. If they take over a device, they use that device's stats (excluding Intelligence), -1 HP. Due to their nature, they start in a phone in the possession of one of their teammates. Taking over a device is guaranteed unless it is too overpowered, gamebreaking, or a sentient being without rolling a D20 first. Taking over an enemy counts as defeating it, and can be done regardless of HP.
Weakness: Cannot attack or move physically without a robotic host. Requires a teammate to move around and perform most actions if they lack a robotic host.
Very particular about their pronouns and will likely fail an action if they are misgendered.

(Not part of weakness) If there happens to be no teammates at the game's start, Nachi will start in a Li'l Marcher body with 4/10 for all stats.

Before I potentially commit, what determines the varying lengths for action/battle phases? Is it just going to be 24 hours for actions and 48 hours for battles? Also, do you have a rough estimate on how long you think the game will run or at least how long it should take to complete a level?

It depends on how long people take to submit there actions its so that people can have time to submit there actions and not feel rushed. as for time frame Iam uncertain but I assume this will go for at least 4-5 days which is just my guess but if you have a recomemded time frame Im all ears.

Lore: Handles field operations for her unseen older sister Maple, an aspiring criminal mastermind, and remains in constant communication with her through her earpiece. She's not that bad at heart, but her loyalty to her sister supersedes all else. Really hates Ztars.

An enterprising Muckoid who overcame the problem of being rooted in one spot by parasitizing a scorpion-like Hydroid and assuming control of its body. Pepper sits upon Brine and uses its tough exoskeleton, large claws, and elastic stinger to defend herself as she seeks out anything which might assist in her goal of "moving up in the world" (she has no idea what this entails).

Strength: 8/10
Intelligence: 3/10
Speed: 2/10
HP: 6/10

Special Skills: Brine possesses an exceptionally sturdy exoskeleton when in direct contact with a body of water, considerably boosting its defense. Pepper retains the natural ability of Muckoids to spew toxic and corrosive muck through the environment.

Weakness: Brine becomes fragile and unable to move in particularly dry environments. Pepper cannot move from one spot without assistance. Pepper retains the common Muckoid weakness to salt, as well as being exceptionally weak to other methods of drying.

Duplication - Blobby starts out with 4 duplicates. If Blobby is around when an enemy is defeated he will duplicate and all stats will increase by +1.
Attack - After an attack, all stats will reduce down to 1. Leaving only 1 duplicate left.

Well dang, I guess I got here too late.
I'm sure Boo would be fine with a few minute late sign up, especially since he seems to be offline so it makes no real difference whether you signed up five or ten minutes ago.

The guy also made three profile posts asking for new players so you'd most likely get in anyway
 
Well I'm not even sure if I'm really gonna be super helpful for this so I might just sit this one out if sign-ups are over anyway. I guess I'll see what happens.
After some consideration I've decided that while time MAYBE over I'm still willing to accept submissions so YES @TheBlueCatMenace you can still join same goes for anybody else since with you all we need is one more spot so ive also decided to extend the time also.

Lore: A member of an offshot minor cadet branch of the Kong Family (although Kongologists aren't sure if he's related by blood or if this is more of a Diddy Kong situation with his family being honorary relatives) . This Kong has proven that just because you're related to famous people doesn't mean you yourself will be famous. Pushed off to the side and for the most part ignored by his more famous cousins this Kong has never gotten his chance to shine. His chance to get what every Kong wants the most a Mariowiki article! Only one time did this Kong come close to video game glory being offered a chance to aid his cousin in retaking the Banana Hoard in the hit game Donkey Kong Land. Before having his moment in the sun taken from him over what he called "bullshit politics". Angered over his removal this Kong left Donkey Kong Island to strike his own fortune...something which hasn't yet happened. Instead this Kong has been reduced to a drifter skirting from town to town doing odd jobs and only occasionally using his family name in an attempt to make himself seem more important then he is/ bum free meals. Through all of this one thing remained constant. His hatred and resentment towards those snooty main branch kongs! Year after year he had to sit through hearing about the different adventures the kongs went on. Smash Tournaments, Fighting Vikings, Being played by A list celebrities in big Hollywood motion pictures. While he drifted from town to town begging for scraps! Finally hearing that Donkey Kong and Paulines Granddaughter (???) had gone on an epic quest down the mines finding Banandium Gems, Collecting Gold, Punching those weird Fractone's. It was the talk of all the newspapers even overshadowing the big Mario Kart World Circuit. This Kong had had enough! He was determined to prove he was a better adventurer then Donkey Kong ever could be! And luckily for him he was gonna get his chance. Hearing about the MEGA BRAWL MINES he decided he was going to plunge into the mines and find a treasure better then Donkey Kong could even dream of finding! And then he'd rub it right into the noses off all those snooty Kongs who looked down on him and wouldn't allow him in there Video Games!

Special Skill! Hat Throw - This Kong's hat doesn't just enhance his devilish good looks! This hat can be used like a boomerang either hitting stuff from a far away distance such as enemies or switches. AND it bring small things back such as Coins, Gems, Kong Letters.
Weaknesses: Not very strong, never graduated 4th grade, believes in chemtrails, doesn't really like hard work, not very trustworthy, hands bruise easily, quick to anger.
