Welcome to another hide and seek competition!​


Last year, I hosted a fun little game of hide and seek (link:). Basically, players would choose from a handful of rooms to hide in. One player, chosen at random, is the seeker. The seeker's goal is to eliminate as many players as they can. When the seeker chooses a room, all players that chose to hide there are eliminated, and that room is removed from the game.

It was a short, low-stakes, low-involvement game that (hopefully) provided excitement. I felt like making a sequel to that game, but with more rooms and multiple seekers! Sounds fun, right? Here are the rules:​
  • Sign up to participate in the game! Post a reply and make sure it's in bold. If your message isn't in bold, then I won't include you.​
  • The majority of players will be hiders The amount of seekers and rooms will be adjusted depending on how many people sign up. There is no limit to how many people can play! You know what they say: the more the merrier!​
  • The seekers will be chosen at random with a wheel I'll make. The seekers and hiders are basically teams. However, nobody will know who is on which side! I'll send PMs to all players telling them what side they're on. This PM also serves as the place to submit actions for each "day". DO NOT tell anyone of your side!​
  • There is no limit on how many players can choose a room. Multiple seekers must try not to choose the same room, otherwise there'll be overlap and the hiders will have better odds! All rooms chosen by seekers will be removed from the game, and all hiders in those rooms will be eliminated as well. Seekers cannot be eliminated, even if multiple choose the same room.​
  • If you don't submit a room choice, I'll randomly choose one for you. If you sign up, please intend to play the game. Submitting an action takes less than 5 minutes!​
  • Feel free to roleplay! Have some fun. Just don't be mean to other players. Remember that this is for fun!​
  • The game will begin Adjusted Time . All days will last 24 hours.​

There are 2 seekers and 7 hiders! The game will be played across 3 days. The rooms available to choose from are:

Maikit: Hmm, hide and seek. Seeing how we need to get into the habit of hiding, what say we participate?
Faikit: Eh, I don't see why not. I mean, we gotta hide together to keep it fair of course. I heard that Fizz guy got eliminated first last year, though, so we'd better hide the best we can.
We sign up. We'll stick together of course, and no transforming as well, just to keep it fair!

This is OK to sign up these two as a single competitor, right? Decided to give them an animation and try to work out their personalities through messages here a bit as well, if that's alright with you Sparks!

The Hide and Seek game has begun!​

We have a total of 9 players, so there will be 2 seekers, 7 hiders and 7 rooms! The game will be played over 3 rounds.

How many hiders can the seekers eliminate before the game ends? Will they eliminate everyone?! We shall see…​

The rooms are:
  • Bedroom
  • Bathroom
  • Playroom
  • Basement
  • Living Room
  • Kitchen
  • Attic

I have created a wheel and will spin it twice to see who the two seekers are!

I will send DMs to all players telling them their role! Use the DM to send me your actions for the day! Simply choose a room. For hiders, that's where you'll hide. For seekers, that's the room you'll check to look for people!

You have until Adjusted Time to send me an action! If you don't, I'll choose a random room for you.

Have fun and don't get caught if you're a seeker! Heh heh heh…​

Whoa! Looks like all players submitted a room choice!

So with everyone having done their task, what happens now? I don't think there's a point in just waiting until 7:00 PM EST occurs. So… why don't I end day 1 early? However, day two will still have the original deadline of Adjusted Time though, so nothing really changed. Thanks to everyone for pitching in!

With that out of the way…

Day 1 results:​

The seekers chose the Basement and Playroom!

Unfortunately we also lost our first hider! @Denny Hamlin hid in the Playroom!

Only one hider eliminated! To be honest, that's what I expected to happen, since there are so many rooms and only a few seekers. Well guess what - both the basement and playroom are now removed from the game! This increases the odds of the seekers choosing rooms that contain hiders!

I also have a spreadsheet describing the actions of all players and their statuses. I will allow eliminated hiders to look at it to see how the game is coming along, but please do not share it with players still in the game!
