Here's a little thread where you can design your own power-ups for Mario and Co. to use.

Example

Item/Activation Mechanic: Electric Flower.

Abilties: Let's the player throw lightning bolts.

Other Effects: Player gains weakness to water.

Costume/Appearance Change: Yellow Lightning Bolt patterns are added to the player's costume.

Item/Activation Mechanic: Flood Flower

Abilities: Allows anyone to launch mini wave projectiles that push enemies backwards.

Other Effects: Can be used in water levels as a straight foward project tile similar to Kirby while in water.

Costume/Appearance Change: Gives anyone a swim suit with pompador wavey hair.
