Awards Killing Game 2x2: Moon of Hope (Game Thread) - Day 4: Lunary Cliffs

Mr. Blocky Boo - did the splash you heard after Lyra left and the splash you heard when the power was out sound anything alike? You mentioned one was much softer.
kb_think.png

Nah, they were definitely different. One was more like a KERSPLOOSH. Like when you make a big cannoncube and dive at a pool. The other was more like something heavy being thrown into a pool, like when I push people in around the sides.

Miss Mona - would a power outage have caused the train in the Train Exhibit to derail so suddenly as it did tonight? I admire your adherence to your blueprints... I think the Maestro would appreciate your work, at least.

Could we also fully examine them, and their rooms? Everything about them... paint, blood, all of the viscera.

I would like to scan both of them with a darklight for what they look like under there

Could we also fully examine them, and their rooms? Everything about them... paint, blood, all of the viscera.
You examine Lupin the Third. He has a bag containing a Mona outfit, has a little dirt and flour on him, and his hand is burned. He has some crafted calling cards that glow under the Darklight. There's some paint on his face, as well.

You examine Jackson. He has the Comedi-man outfit, a carving knife, and a spray bottle with a slight red glow that smells like peppers. The last is glowing under the Darklight.

Nothing of note is in their rooms.

That blood on the front of the forklift - is it just blood? Is there any water or other errata? What is the spray like - square, pixel-y?

Do the basins on the Hydro Generator clearly correspond to different wings of the facility? Would one have to ask Miss Mona for help?

The five basins are not explicitly labeled as each serving a different wing. Mona would know which one powers which wing and would provide this to anyone who asked.

Mona, did I ever ask you which generator corresponds to which location?

Twilight Phase is now open. You have 24 hours to investigate lore and mysteries of the Complex.

The vote for the Dark Moon Shard of Old Strength is open. Please vote who you would like to have it.

I will petition for myself to get it, and vote for myself, of course

As for investigation, I would like to bring the paintings with the plants put back into them to the solarium, and see if replacing them with plants inside would do anything

All that running about and we never figured out the true answer to that murder! Ugh. This is why I don't exert myself. Phenomenal waste. I wonder why I even bothered.

I guess there's some interesting things left to do.

We never went to that Tree Tops room. What's there?

Lupin said he buried a painting in the Graveyard. Any chance we can put it through the Portrificationiser and see if it was valuable enough to steal?

DrGhouligrab_confident.png

Well, if you think about this logically, I, Dr. Tempest Ghouligrab, am clearly the rightful owner of the shard!
  • I completed the puzzle that opened its location, and you know the old saying, finders keepers losers weepers!
  • It's called the shard of Old Strength! As far as I can tell, I have the most life experience of anyone here. Remember to respect your elders!
  • Two shards have been uncovered already, and one is already being vowed to the so-called "king", which is- is just bad news! As a seasoned ghost hunting professional, you can trust me to not willingly hand it over to the fool who wants us all dead.

I'm voting that no one gets it, to obtain strength one must earn it, not have it handed to them.

Also it allows me to kick butt fair and square

Geh heh heh... not bad. Despite all the lies and misdirection, youse actually got pretty close to figurin' it out. Too bad knowing the method wasn't enough. Let me illuminate youse about what REALLY went down last night.

atmey-normal.png

Youse got the basics more or less down. Everythin' I said in my testimony is mostly true, except after I knocked out Lupin and finished of Aracacia, I headed outta the room and went to the Rumpus Room, where my associate had left a mammoth tusk right behind the teddy bear. Turned out Portricia had eyes for the bear, but didn't even notice the tusk leanin' against the wall. I rushed in, then did a nice clean grab 'n stab. We borrowed the idea of the mammoth tusk from that car-lover's kill on Night 1, figurin' it'd make a unique wound that'd be hard to understand, and even harder to find the weapon. Once I killed her, I dragged her into the next room to teleport her outta the Solarium and have her crash onto the cliff, makin' it harder to know at a glance what killed her. 'Course, I didn't plan on the power bein' off, but luckily I could just press the button and walk away, and she got teleported out once the power was back online. I then doubled back to the West Gallery, just as Lupin was wakin' up, and made my way downstairs to the Aviation Exhibit, where I snuck past the old farts, into the Gloomy Bedrooms, and planted the tusk in Reigen's room. I figured the room of a dead player was the least likely to be checked. Then, my associate came from downstairs with a tarp-covered trolley and threw it off the cliff, just to try and create questions of whether she really died in the Solarium or if she got thrown off the cliff. Again, we didn't know Jackson would be throwin' forklifts offa the cliff as well, but the more the merrier.

atmey-wild.png

The MO of this kill was to create as much confusion and obfuscation as possible. We'd already had quite a bit, but there needed to be more. If people had found the mammoth tusk too early, it'd cut short the potential for hours of weapon-related overthinkin'. Not to mention, I needed a nice little alibi. So, I did what any good murderer would do, and I borrowed some power. It's true that I've been researchin' the demonic ghosts, but them bein' parts of puzzles ain't the case. In exchange for defeatin' them, I get a special power attached to my kill. Tonight's power... deletin' a piece of evidence outright. I can't choose what gets deleted, but in a kill with only one thing to delete... geh heh heh. That tusk is nothin' but dust, no crocs needed. I knew how to weaken the spider thanks to my research, so takin' her out was a piece of cake in a darklight filled room like the West Gallery. I was plannin' on stealin' the painting anyway, and I figured Lupin was usually hangin' around there, so it seemed like a real good place to make an alibi and set up a fake murder attempt. Seems to have worked pretty well to me, considerin' that's the thing you couldn't figure out.

atmey-smug.png

Course, I needed some other stuff to fill out my night, so that was pretty easy. Nothin' like some nice destruction to keep me busy:

  • Paintin' the Studio red with trap buckets helped mess up Lee's favourite room
  • Burnin' down the Coatroom means we screw over any future attempts at costume kills
  • Smashin' the bathroom mirror to get the door unlockin' lever
  • Stealin' and then punchin' an expensive paintin' just cause I thought it'd be funny if I stole it and Lupin didn't
atmey-normal.png

I had a fun time. Don't blame yourselves for not figurin' it out. After all, most of youse don't know jack about investigatin'. You get on your high horses, callin' me an "uncultured, uncivilized animal"... geh heh heh. Suits me fine. You underestimated me at your own peril. Speakin' of which, youse might be wonderin' why I even killed the cat in the first place. Well, everythin' I've said about researchin' the demonic spirits is true. Even though I can borrow their power, I don't know anythin' about most of 'em. I had to do a lot of diggin' about each of them to find out their weaknesses... and how to summon 'em. Of course, I'm a hunter at heart, not an investigator, so I borrowed the name and power of another spirit to help me out, one operatin' from another plane of existence... geh heh heh... a guy named Luke Atmey.

atmey-wild.png

Nobody makes anythin' of it from the legends, but those water powers that Lyra is imitatin' are the real deal, and he only had 'em because he himself was a specter. Somethin' he did in that jungle traded his life for his powers. Made him weak to talismans and everythin'. But as experts know, he barely used the water powers, cause his real strength was his detective work. So I stole the guy's invitation, took his name, and used my powers to channel his smarts, too. If youse couldn't figure that one out, your investigations really are screwed. I'm nothin' like the guy. Gah hah hah hah hah!

atmey-smug.png

Anyways, I've been usin' that power to investigate everythin' I can about those ghosts... not just so I can control their powers, but so I can hunt them. I've gotten the rats, the mummy, and the spider... the flower and the sphere are both MIA, so that only leaves one more... the unnamed demon king. I wasn't makin' up the stories I read about blood sacrifices. Lulu might say otherwise, but I needed to investigate for myself if it was really true. Now that I've killed the cat, all I've gotta do is prepare myself and wait for him to show up. King Blocky Boo is small potatoes. I'm aimin' for the real king. And once I've beaten him, it'll be my name that's getting all the power, and startin' a new legend. The legend of...

Ah... so ya got the wrong culprit. That's a shame. But life has to move on, right? No point dwelling in darkness when there's so much around us already. Gotta focus on what we have. Now, I don't know what the shell is happening here, why this clamn valley and manor look so different, and why that big ghoul is a box now?! But there's always hope. If you have hope, you'll never truly lose. Remember that, 'cause I tend to forget things with my age!

I... I don't...

Like these gem whatsits. I reckon they'll be useful if ya wanna take down that big turnip with the crown! Not sure how, never was a jewel guy, but maybe there's something powerful locked inside these. This one I'm holding on to here, it's changing me. Giving me power from within, maybe. That's why I feel so alive. Maybe it's the cure for all this despair.

He's...

I don't think I'm sticking around. Thought at the start I just had some bad chowder, but there's something worse brewing up inside me. Something angry. I wanted to try and make it further, but deep down I knew I could only last one night. I'm not... strong enough. I guess that's my destiny - URK!

Destiny... yes.

It arrives all the same. Or should I say, I have.
