Awards Killing Game 2x2: Moon of Hope (Game Thread) - Day 4: Lunary Cliffs

Is there a Darklight pathway leading from the East Gallery through the Train Exhibit and the Nautical Exhibit? As always, both Fascia and I want to know this. We're in sync.

How many sets of wet footprints are leaving the Solarium to go to the Rumpus Room, if we can tell?

And, lastly, what is the condition of the Eastern 2F Hallway? Does it appear that anything was dropped through the hole immediately down below, or that it was exploded in a certain way or pattern?

I thought I said I didn't want to kill again, you guys are really pushing me for nothing here. You're gonna make me try a bunch of a random cylinders? I mean, I guess, but... Kyeh, whatever. You kill one person, steal a couple shards, hang out at the crime scene, and suddenly you're suspect #1 apparently. No wonder we keep getting these wrong.

I'll try the following items on The Lash if I have to, but otherwise I'll compare them to the wound:

  • A railway spike from the Pit Mine area and the Train Exhibit both
  • An ice pick (fishing hut? the z-gate lab?)
  • A crystal from the Crystal Mines
  • A tire iron or similar tool from the Garage
  • Anything in the Metal Lab that looks similar? Some kind of punch?
  • Anything in Solarium like a table leg or similar that's been sharpened?
  • A sword, spear, or lance held by any of the armors?

Thinking back to the initial discovery, is it possible to determine if Portricia initially landed at the spot where she was found? Is there a "normal" amount of blood on that spire, was there any blood amongst the forklift wreckage, etc
You examine the rock spire Portricia was found on. It's cracked from the side facing the Cliffside, where the barriers have been busted through, just near the pixelator. It's somewhat wet, and has been coated in blood from her body, but it seems a lot of the blood has mixed with the water. The forklift has a splatter of blood on the front amidst the large dent.

Investigate the Rafters looking for evidence of taken tarps. There might be tarps in the Studio, look there too.
You investigate the Rafters. Some of the dust in here has been cleaned, mostly from the ground, but the scratch marks in the floor remain. You note that none of the tarps in here seem to have been taken, but there's piles of boxes and stuff covered by tarps here to go through, and you feel it would be better to be specific. The Studio has a missing smock, but no tarps taken.

Check head bruise on Lyra and also check inventory with permission
You examine Lyra's head. Ouch, thats a sizeable lump. Lyra has a sledgehammer, a wooden ladle, and of course a dark moon shard, but not much else.

It appears no such pathway or trail exists.

There's only a single set of wet footprints which trail off.

The cannonfire has knocked some of the planks in the hallway acting as a bridge clean off, and is large enough for someone to just fit through. The holes edge is coated in ice, which sparkles under darklight. You could slip down here if you're not careful, but it's somewhat easier to avoid than the west hole.

Investigate the 2F Restroom, particularly for signs of a struggle or a body being dragged through
You examine the Restroom. The toilet Z-Gate gurgles. There appears to be no signs of a struggle, unless you count the smashed bronze mirror. A lever labeled "Unlock/Lock" has been flicked to unlock. A small pipe exists here, with glowing green elementals loitering around it. They look kinda sticky!

Of these, you aren't sure if anything matches perfectly, but when a cylindrical spike from the metal shrapnel in the lab is compared to the wound, it seems kinda close but is ultimately inconclusive. While Vigil watches you compare wounds over and over, many times, against multiple weapons, he states with an amused puff of smoke that he can probably conclude the weapon she was gored with wasn't made of metal or unpolished wood. Metal is too sharp, and wood is too splintery.

Do a full body and inventory check on MCD. He consented to such, might as well use the permission.
MCD is wearing a highly mismatched outfit pieced together from various parts of the exhibits. He almost looks like he's been on a world adventure. Or at least to the thrift store. He's got a bit of blue paint on his feet. He has a shovel, and a golden tea set labeled "aurumdesire".

Are Mister Lash's body and belongings stored in the Graveyard? Can we compare his claws to Miss Porticia's back wound?

If they aren't a match, can we compare a few different fossilized dinosaur claws from the Rafters?

You examine the claws, but note the device is made of metal, and not bone.

You lift the tarp to the Ancient Exhibit, and find lots of dusty cardboard and metal boxes of various sizes here filled with bones and other ancient technology. Some of them are kinda small, and one is really dusty. Rummaging around, you find a fossilised, boney claw is the absolutely closest match you have, but it seems too short.

If we do similar water color comparison tests with the Solarium with red paint instead of blood, is it a closer or more distant match? What about both red paint and blood?

What do the sticky sprites in the Restroom look like? Are they anything like what's been recovered from the scene of the crime?
Fascia is trying to think.

Suddenly, the toilet erupts, and out from the Z-Gate pops Mona. She's missing her armor since it took a cliffside tumble.

Slime elementals!! They're totally against standard elemental protocol, but Gadd was researching them, for the purposes of using their essence as a conduit for paranormal power. In fact, it's how most of your Gaddgets were made!

Everyone, as Chief Safety Wraith (...wraifty), if you're a Wraith or transporting in the Paranormal Dimension, please take the utmost care when approaching the Pixelator in the Solarium. You will be flung into the Under the Ice Room and jumbled up for a bit while it can't send your information correctly. I can't confirm the Crypt pixelator myself. I had... a lot of time to think.

Give me a few seconds to compose myself, and I'll testify.

Attempt the claw check again, but with any horns or tusks present in the exhibits or storage rooms.
A tusk... Vigil says that would do it. He thinks being hit by a wooly mammoth would gore her like that easily. Unfortunately, you can't find any large enough tusks around to compare. You merely find dust.

Nothing like whats been recovered at the crime scene.

Way more distant match. Blood has a small tinge of orange in it which makes the purple maroon look super unappealing compared to the nice indigo-violet you make from mixing standard paints.

Check the hands, shoes, and ankles of Ghouligrab, Albina, Lulu, Lee, MCD, and Lee's armor in the graveyard. Look for rope burn, scuff marks, anything.

Also present my own hands for the same purpose.

EDIT: Also check Luke's and Captain Cuttlefish's, they consented.

Have we checked the Container Yard for anything amiss? And, could one have found a trolley there?

Is there anything tusk-like in the Tomb, Crypt, or Basin, or otherwise something obviously off or discarded?
I think Mr. Thanos ran over there after he was reanimated... maybe.

None of these hands have rope burns. Albina, Lulu's and Lees hands have dirt on them, the interior of Lee's armor is splattered with red paint, and the exterior is coated in paint which glows under darklight, making it look spooky. Ghouligrabs hands are coated in sand. MCD has a small amount of dirt but most of its on his shovel, and blue paint on his feet. Luke has spider gunk on his hands which are kinda burned, and his feet also have dirt. You only have blue paint on your feet.

Mostly you cant conclude if any of these peoples feet were soaking wet. The footprints aren't very damp, and looking at them closely, it seems theyre scuffed, as if the person wiped their feet before leaving to remove the water. The room is rather plush, carpety, and soft...

Cuttlefish's hand holds a dark moon shard and his other arm has been melted clean off. He's burnt to a crisp piece of calamari, but is still alive and kickin! Wraith powers.

You fail to find any tusks in those bone related rooms. Only dusty bones.

The Container Yard is missing a forklift, but you know where that ended up, and is missing another flat trolley, and two tarps. You compare the wreckage of the trolley to the other trolleys here, and well, that's a trolley alright.

Right, this is an emergency last minute testimony, so like in all emergencies, I'm going to be quick and succinct. Just the facts, and we can triage the rest.

- While I was working on fixing the hole throughout the early night, I saw Coral exit the terminal wearing a cool jacket and head into the Restrooms.
- Lupin arrived dressed as me, said he was gonna do Mona-like things, and helped with the repair. He wasn't wearing armor like I was, so I suggested he try that as well.
- Lupin asked if I could help him steal Gadd's last painting from behind the grate and lasers in the West Gallery, I obliged, and said I'd go to the restroom to trigger the complex-wide emergency unlocking sequence later. It turns any red doors on the map green, basically.
- I hear a commotion in the exhibits, and find that a suit of armor is smashing them all up. Great.
- I speak with Cuttlefish in the Train Exhibit and warn him not to touch it after last nights incident, then return to see a hole in the floor on the other side of the hallway, so I inspect it. Sigh. Atmey passes me coated in leather armor and wielding a sword, heading to the Amethyst wing.
- I float off to confront KBB, but he's not here. I hear a smash and head to the Restroom to see its dark. Someones broken the mirror and flipped the switch already.
- KBB returns, and I... chat with him in the dark. There's a splash nearby.
- Suddenly, the whole building is struck by lightning, which causes the rest of it to go out.
- I float out from his office, because he's useless in a crisis, to try and find Lupin, but unfortunately wraiths can't see well in the dark either. I turn on my darklight headlight, and I see someone running through the Clock Tower east to west, while someone else enters from downstairs and heads east, slipping on that unsafe hole a bit.
- Taking the wraith paths on 2f which lets you float above the mansion, I rush to the toolshed to see if Lupin's alright in the West Gallery, and on my way, see someone at the fountain, someone heading to the cliffside, and someone heading to the graveyard. Again, dark.
- I give first aid to Lupin, as winter would have done. Atmey makes off with the painting in his stead.
- Lupin recovers and says he'll go and fix the breaker for me. In the meantime I examine the West Gallery, and find its been the site of... some kind of demonic spider battle. The power comes on a short while later.
- I uselessly float around the rest of the night in the topaz 2F wing. Well. I feel useless, but maybe I'm not.

If you need me to clarify anything, sound off and I'll do my best.

The Pixilator cameras need to have the facility's power on in order to work, correct? Even with a portable Darklight, you couldn't teleport someone if the Amethyst Wing or entire facility lost power? Or, do they work separately from a localized outage, running off of a different source?

Is there any blood, water, etcetera on the rope leading up from the Cliffside?

And, is there any noticeable paint on the Rumpus Room carpet? For example... if someone with paint on their feet dried their shoes.

Oh - I forgot... I apologize to Fascia. Have we checked the East Gallery at all, due to the chains that came from there?

Mona confirms the following things, and presents some simple blueprints from the Drafting Office to back her up.
- Pixelators dont run if the room has no power. The cameras in the five grounds are also wired to the facility with their corresponding wing.
- You can't use a darklight or the button on the camera if its not receiving power. If the button is pressed while it's off, it'll flash when it receives power again.
- The only localised power in the facility is the clock tower, though its possible for a massive burst of electrical current to wipe the whole complex. When this happens, theres a breaker in the Hydro Generators to turn the whole facility on at once, minus the Clock Tower.

No blood or paint on the rope.

There is a faint purple tinge to the footprints, but otherwise they are not noticably blue at all.

Oh - I forgot... I apologize to Fascia. Have we checked the East Gallery at all, due to the chains that came from there?
You examine the East Gallery. Some statues remain in tact, but again this room was trashed. No chains anywhere, but there are some small wood shavings on the ground. The outside door has been unlocked.

Use a darklight to check for footprints at the Solarium entrances and exits in the paranormal dimension.
You fail to yield a result.

Mr. Blocky Boo - did the splash you heard after Lyra left and the splash you heard when the power was out sound anything alike? You mentioned one was much softer.
