Koopa Troopa
To get this out of the way, no, I'm not going to get so obsessed with Koopas to the point I start comparing anything to them, I do research on creatures that closely share resemblance with the species. With that said, let's get this Started! 
Topper is the main (not leader though) of the Broodals and is in charge of the client relations, but this isn't about the Broodals personalities, this a Koopa comparison, so let's compare him to something pretty obvious:
The Koopa Troopa. Design wise, completely different, but attack wise, now were in business. One thing all Broodals have in common are their hats that they wear constantly. In Toppers case, tucking himself into his hat and spinning around, bouncing off walls in random directions. If Topper doesn't have anything in common with a Koopa Troopa, what type of Koopa is he possibly related to? Bowsers species, Not just Topper, but all of the Koopalings.
Both species wear spiked brackets, varied body types, colorful curled hair, and most notably, a Muzzle (Theirs being white). The other Broodals have things in common with other Koopa species as well.
Hariet is the girl of the group, being in charge of pyrotechnics. Everything said about Topper applies to her but their is an actual enemy she shares similarities with, specifically with her hat, Location, and reliance on flames, The Buzzy Beetle, or Buster beetle if you count the throwing bombs thing.
Rango is the bouncer of the gang and the only Broodal to appear in another game outside of Odyssey. The creature he is related to is its own topic on its own but I'll summarize it. This is Rocky wrench. You might think it's a mole but both SMB3 and it TV show say that it's a Koopa, which is why they have shells, but the ones in the newer games that resemble Monty Moles are actual moles.
So Rango could possibly be the Rocky wrench above rather than the one below.
Madame Brood is the manager of the Broodals and has a pet Gold chain chomp. her face and behavior is similar to that of king Bowser himself.
My Proof
The Broodals got a-lot on concept art for what they could be but out of all of them, this one got them correct the most. In fact it feels like they turned these 4 into rabbits for so much they have a like. Even Hariet and the Buzzy Beetle have very similar clothes.

Spewart is in charge of entertaining. Despite the concept art (Which we'll get into) showing a plant, he actually shares a closer similarity to another member of Bowsers species, Roy Koopa.

Remember when I said all the Broodals have their hats in common? Well that's actually for a reason; They act as shells for the Broodals. Since like most half Koopas such as Rocky Wrenches and Goombeetles, they don't have a proper shell to hide in, they use their hats to do something similar.My Proof
