While I was Playing the original Super Mario Bros, something came to mind.
What happened to King Wart?
He hasn't made a physical since Links Awakening or A Nintendo Comic. After I did a bit of research, connecting, and thinking I have come up with this theory.
(Keep in mind I will be using other sources like The Super show, the Comics, and the legend of Zelda. I'm only using those since the Mario series references those said medias therefore must be canon in my eyes. If you disagree you may ignore this theory.)
King Wart is the Leader of the 8 Bit crew. With his main crew, Birdo (According to the sources he has 3 Birdos), Fryguy, Clawgrip, Tryclode, and his right hand man Mouser. He and his Minions go into people's dreams and turn them into nightmares, even taking over a dream land named "Subcon" Until Mario and his crew defeated him. After that he has been around the mushroom occasionally messing with dreams and even having beef with the Mushroom Kingdom kidnapping him on a fee occasions showing that he's pretty similar to Bowser. Speaking of Bowser, we've seen the two interact on a few occasions, such as helping him in the original Mario Pinball to kidnap Luigi.
But ever since those games mentioned in the beginning, wart or the 8 bits haven't been mentioned in a while, here's what I have to say about that.
Now in Mario Baseball, one of the shy guys have Warts name in their Autobiography as well as a yellow toad stating Wart was in his dream Meaning wart is still around, just behind the scenes but something seems off...
Birdo, and most of his minions don't work for him anymore, infact some of them work for Bowser now and even Booster (from Mario RPG). This leads me to think, something happened to the 8 Bits.
Let's start with Mouser, the Main Man. Mouser in the Super Show and Comics was working for Bowser at one point but seemed to be replaced with others like Kamek. Seeing how Mouser is usually associated with being a DJ it's safe to assume he lost his Commander Status in the Koopa Pack and is now just working as a DJ, talk about a Fall off.
It's unknown what happened to Clawgrip considering we never get any info on him at all but we do possibly know what happened to FryGuy. FryGuy in the Super show wasn't a character but a species meaning there's more FryGuys just like Birdo so Maybe Fryguy is hanging out with them.
Now for the other minions. The Shy Guys seem to have a lose of a job, whatever happened in the group caused the Shy Guys to Leave the 8 Bits and take on any Job. That's why some Live in Daisy's land, Working for Bowser, and Booster or have their own Land. Others like Pansers have no other Jobs which is why we never see them again.
Finally, the main leaning point for this. Birdo.
Like I said, Birdo is one of Warts main Minions but I think theirs more than just a Boss worker relationship going on here... Like I said, Wart has 3 Birdos on his Team, Pink, Red, and Green. I think He was originally dating the Pink Birdo as seen by some commercials where they seem pretty close to each other.
Which I why Wart has 2 Kids (Before you tell me Birdos trans, I know that, but she also shoots out eggs so we already know how she could reproduce)
The first kid is Hypothetical, Since animal crossing might not be connected to the Mario series but the game has a few Mario related items including games so the first character is the first suspect. Wart Jr, since Jr is in his name this could possibly be Warts son since they are the only Known Nintendo characters who are named Wart.
And another one is definitely a Main suspect but this one will need a bit of context. As I said Birdo isn't a character but a species which is why Wart has 3 Birdos and he's close to the Pink one so much so they seem to be in a relationship. The Super Mario Bros Super Show has Many Birdos in it but all of the lack one thing, a bow. All of those Birdos work for Bowser and are Basic troops but there's one friendly Birdo who is the Only one in the show who wears a bow and Doesn't work for Bowser.
This Birdo is Single and has our main suspect, a Kid named Cheepy.
Cheepy doesn't seem to have a Father of any sort in his life, just a mother. And as I said, this is the Only Birdo in the show that wears a bow, this could be the same Birdo Wart was dating and they settled down and had a kid, which is why she seems a bit older. Now you might be asking, What about the Birdo that's Dating Yoshi? There's two hypothetical Answers, Either Birdo broke up with Wart making him watch the kid so she can get with Yoshi, or that Birdo is a completely different Birdo since sometimes in the games she's either a friend or a Girlfriend.
So to sum all of this up, Wart used to be a prominent ruling king also causing attacks on the Mushroom kingdom through dreams until and Incident (unidentified, Possibly Wart and Birdos relationship) split the Group up making them move on, but the little things Wary has left is what he's using. Which is why in Links Awakening he's helpful and is trying to become a Singer while trying to keep the Tough guy act. But hey, it's just a theory, it's what I think is the reason Wart hasn't been seen in decades. What are your thoughts?
