it is because of low poly graphics if you smooth it out it won't look scary it will only startle you
and it's eyes are different

Chain Chomper is simply angry because he is tethered to a wooden pole.

However, some chainless chomps have caused Yoshi grief, as well as Mario.

Mr. Miyamoto said he based chain chomp on a dog he feared.
