Wii U games are region-locked, yes. Same with 3DS.

[Marceline]

I know the Gamepads are region locked, I was asking if the same is true of the Gamecube mic.

[Xiahou Ba]

GameCube shouldn't be region-locked in any capacity.

[Marceline]

GameCube shouldn't be region-locked in any capacity.

Not even for the games?

[Xiahou Ba]

Never mind what I said. It IS region-locked. A google search answered my question.

Fuck you Nintendo.

[Marceline]

Drat.

[Mcmadness]

There are disks you can get that disable the region lock but you'd have to be willing to pay the extra money for it.

[Marceline]

I don't think I want to hack my Gamecube but thanks for offering that advice.

[Mcmadness]

It's less of a hack and more of a simple override. You just put the disk in, activate it, then take it out and put in the outer region game and it works.

You have to do it every time you play the game

[Marceline]

But it's the sort of thing which would void your warranty if it were new.
