Your political type according to Pew Research Center

'Hoy, small fry!
See this.

Sorry if there's been topics like this before, but I found this political quiz to be surprisingly detailed, with a broad spectrum of possible results. It's from a pretty reputable source too.

Here's me (kinda surprising, I know my views were liberal, but not that liberal):

2yXX8Bf.png

So did I, I'm a solid liberal.

I think this graph has the degree of my political view...?

"Generally young, well-educated and financially comfortable, the Next Generation Left have very liberal attitudes on many issues, including homosexuality, abortion, the environment and foreign policy. While overall supportive of an activist government, most are wary of expanding the social safety net. Most also have relatively positive views of Wall Street’s impact on the economy. While most affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, few consider themselves strong Democrats."

I'm seeing a theme here. ;)

Well according to the website, my opinions are pretty much liberal, so I didn't break it that badly. On the other hand though, I'm really uneducated on politics and governments, which is why I normally stay out of topics like "who are you going to vote for" etc.

preview edit: just looked up what liberal means and I can say that I am definitely one.

solid liberal
liquid liberal

Well given every question had a reasonable person option and a huge goddamn arsehole option my result ended up being Solid Liberal

Too bad Liberal means something totally different here =_=

Same.

And now to break all the chains, I got Young Outsider

"This relatively young, largely independent group holds a mix of conservative and liberal views. And while more lean toward the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, Young Outsiders generally express unfavorable opinions of both major parties. They are largely skeptical of activist government, as a substantial majority views government as wasteful and inefficient. Yet many diverge from the two conservative typology groups – Steadfast Conservatives and Business Conservatives – in their strong support for the environment and many liberal social policies."

Yup that's pretty accurate.

Solid liberal.

I also took this test about two years ago but got Next Generation Left.

Breaking up the trend. nvm it was already broken lol

Your best fit is...
Business Conservative
along with 10% of the public.

2012 vote: 9% for Obama | 81% for Romney

Business Conservatives generally are traditional small-government Republicans. Overwhelming percentages think that government is almost always wasteful and it does too much better left to businesses and individuals. Business Conservatives differ from Steadfast Conservatives in their positive attitudes toward business and in their strong support for Wall Street in particular. Most think that immigrants strengthen the country and take a positive view of U.S. global involvement. As a group, they are less socially conservative than Steadfast Conservatives.

I went against the group's opinions on social issues and military (me being more socially liberal and less militaristic), so I don't know if another group may have been more accurate.

a lot of these questions i'm split right down the middle on, and honestly couldn't answer

for instance, "government is wasteful" or "government does more than people give it credit for". i believe both of those things pretty strongly. there's not really an option for me there

Would be interesting to see if there was a UK one and where most of the American users would fall if they were living here.

Anyhow, according to the poll I'm a Solid Liberal.

first question in and already i can see this questionnaire is gonna have me using my brain

i decided to do a bit of commentary on what answers i chose! if you are easily triggered by other people's opinions, please do not open this spoiler

if you have plans to call me out on my opinions, please do not open this spoiler

if you don't care what other people have to say, and are fine with others having opinions, and aren't batshit crazy, then please, open and read

just please remember what i choose and why i choose these options is purely my opinion, and it doesn't affect you in any way. don't try to debate with me, it never ends well.

1. this question doesn't make much sense to me. at first i had to have a look at what government regulation actually means, then i had to assume that i knew how government regulation even works in this country, because i have no idea whether it does good or bad. to me, regulation sounds bad, so i went with option 2.

2. let's face it here - there are thousands of people out there each day working their asses off and getting nowhere in life. option 2 is simply the right option here

3. again, this is a no brainer. the environment keeps everything in check, and if people haven't already noticed, the failing state of the environment is causing problems all around the world right now. option 1, no brainer.

4. bit hard for me to choose here, because it does present the problem that war only breeds hatred which breeds more war. but then again, how are we supposed to repel the invaders that seek to destroy our freedom? i went with option 1, but that's only because it's better to take out the forces that attack us at the source. go get 'em boys!

5. bit of a dangerous subject this one. in my opinion, blacks can often be the problem for their own actions, just like how whites can also be the problem for their own actions. there are thousands of successful black people out there right now, and while i don't condone police brutality, there's no doubt that there's a lot of gang violence in predominantly black neighbourhoods. granted it's hard for young people to get out of those neighbourhoods, but it does say "mostly" so it's justified. option 2, though i don't feel good about it

6. this is another hard one for me, since i'm more on the side of "businesses can make as much as they work for, the government just needs to tax them more". i went with option 2, purely because if they make a lot of cash, they've done so with good tactics and hard work.

7. option 1. the benefits system is highly flawed, and needs to be a system where people look for job openings within the three years that they should be receiving benefits. i live across from a mother and daughter who are living on benefits, and they literally go out shopping all day. i know, i live in britain, but i can't imagine the benefits system is any different in america.

8. option 1. we need to be open with other countries so to keep up relations, before we have, oh, i don't know, another world war?

9. option 1, no brainer. i'm a christian, and i know very well that people can have good morals and not be religious, and vice versa.

10. remember when you had that curry last week? remember when you had that chinese yesterday? how about those tacos? all foods from different countries. option 2 all the way baby.

11. i don't know much about american politics, but over here, the government has been doing a lot to clean up the messes left by both the previous government, and the people of which the government is there to protect. and yet they're given a lot of shit for things that don't even matter. pro-tip: if you're in the government, you'll always be doing something to help the general public, and people will never thank you for it. option 2.

12. what do you even mean by priorities? because it sounds to me as if you want to force people to marry others just for the sake of it. i'm guessing this is where people take sharia law or whatever it is in to account and force people to marry others even if they don't want to. option 2 seems to be the nicer option here.

13. government runs the country. who runs the government? soon there's a chance that you might have your answer in the very man that could be leading the government! option 1. duh.

14. this one. this one right here. about 10 questions ago it asked something along the lines of this, but missed out diplomacy. granted we can't really talk to the terrorists, but they're not a country themselves, whereas mad-hat north korea is. if we take them seriously, then maybe we can prevent them from doing something stupid. like launching a nuke. option 2.

15. i feel like this one was already answered beforehand, but it sort of changes up the options a bit. let's put it in terms that people can understand. yes, there is certain obstacles that people will have a lot of trouble getting around. however, that's all they are. obstacles. they can be avoided with the correct tactics and whatever, and everybody has it in them to work hard and get to a point that they can be happy with. as i said before, there are thousands of people working hard and getting nowhere in life. i mainly said that because hard work is no guarantee of getting anywhere in life. you do have the willpower, it just requires a lot more than hard work alone. option 2.

16. as if this needs to be said. option 1. men love men. women love women. accept it.

17. this one is very hard for me, because you can actually give up privacy without giving up freedom. and in the end, what privacy are you really giving up? the nsa does not care about your phonecalls to your girlfriend, or what porn you're searching for, they care about terrorists and lawbreakers. unless you're planning on committing a crime, your information literally goes nowhere. i feel that option 1 makes more sense in context, but it's not so much giving up freedom and privacy as just "letting people glaze over your private lives to protect you".

18. as i said about the benefits system, option 1. people who receive too much government funding will be forced in life to take less risks in finding jobs, and literally lay on their asses all day.

19. option 2 is the most sane option here. if protecting the environment harms your job in any way, you're in the wrong job.

20. for me, we have already achieved enough equality to consider blacks equal to whites. that's my opinion, please don't pitchfork me. option 1.

21. as much as i think that america has caused a fair few problems, they have made infinitely more solutions to other world problems. for example, they persuaded berlin to break down the wall, sent troupes into afghanistan, and waged war straight on with isis, not to mention that they've funded many countries in their times of need and are a very supportive nation to its allies. option 2 here chaps. god bless america!

22. every government is broke, and benefits is partly to blame. option 2.

23. it's like i said earlier in regards to food - there's a lot of luxuries you enjoy on a day to day basis, in whatever country you live in, and immigrants are to thank for that. option 1.

with all of ^that, i got this

99% labour, 97% liberal democrat

I don't exactly know what the labour party is, but I'm assuming it's progressive.
one thing you have to know about british politics - basically everything is left leaning, with the exception of a few parties such as ukip, who is far right.

our two main parties, conservatives and labour, are bothon the left side, with labour being the furthest left

EDIT: So i just took the british test, and it's surprisingly accurate to what i believe

as you can see, i'm more or less 50/50 on conservatives and liberal democrats, with conservatives pushing ahead just a little bit

granted i am a conservative myself, i miss having cameron, but may is bae ladies and gentlemen

As for UK politics I match with Labour, although I'm surprised it's 94% :P I do agree with the Liberal Democrats as well and I'm surprised how much I agree with the Green party. I find it worrying though that I agree with the BNP on 56% though...
