I think it's because he's jealous Mario gets her and HE wants to marry her (like in SPM). I know! Why don't we make a watered down Beauty and the Beast movie about Peach learning to love Bowser even though he's an evil, ugly Koopa monster who does absofreakinlutely nothing to make her love him?
