Bowser does deserve his own game, it would be fun no matter what it is (Unless it's called Hotel Bowser).

The fact that he's a villain and will ultimately lose is fine, but losing in the same manner by doing the same thing is dumb to me, no matter what motive is behind it. The fact that he literally gives Mario a way to beat him is just, well, stupid. (A switch that makes the bridge fall down? Come on.)

There have been plenty of times he's fought Mario without needing assistance there have been plenty of other things he's beaten as well.

The only time he suffers from too similar syndrome is with the NSMB series and I blame more the developers than him. He's had a variety of different schemes and tactics over the years, using new abilties, vehicles, magical artifacts etc etc.

As for the ''press the button to win'' since nobody ever mentions them in-universe I always imagined it being gameplay story segregation.

Either that or its one of those weird Mario things you are just not meant to think about.

Bowser has never beat Mario without using someone or something. (Correct me if there is more than one account of when this has happened.) He has used multiple things to beat Mario, they are usually in spin-offs, but still don't help him win. He just can't seem to beat Mario on his own. And the idea (tactic) of kidnapping the same girl form the same kingdom with the same guy beating him makes Bowser seem a bit, um, I don't know what word to use.

Why he can turn giant or invincible and then still can't just lunge at Mario and insta-kill him is weird, especially when it's happened numerous times (NSMB series, Paper Mario series, Galaxy 2) Putting a guy on a small planet and getting your hand stuck in it many times while not improving it much is also a lame idea, why not just crush the planet, throw it into the abyss or make the path impossible to cross then attack? Nintendo really need to make Bowser more believable.

I guess you could blame the castle architects for the bad bridge design.

Well no, he's never beaten Mario. But look at it this way. In the main games Mario has technically never beaten Bowser in a straight fight, He always wins of course but its always by using his environment or using Bowser's own attacks against him. Bowser is just that naturally strong that Mario needs to do that. Frankly adult Bowser really shouldn't have to grow giant to fight effectively but they do that anyway because its theoretically intimidating, it makes sense when he's a baby but for being an adult he really shouldn't need to do that.

Plus despite losing all the time its implied at least that Mario has to earn the victory from him.

As for simply crushing them, well thats applying more logic to things than the series was ever designed to have.

And Mario did beat Bowser in that tutorial battle in Superstar Saga WITHOUT Luigi's help. :P

Bowser wasn't outnumbered in any of the M&L RPGs, and Bowser was basically invincible in Paper Mario, Dream Team and Sticker Star. And for a Paper Mario game, Sticker Star didn't even have a partner required to beat him. (If you're think Kersti, it's still pretty easy to beat Bowser without her)

At the end of PM its Mario, Goombario, Kooper, Bombette, Parakarry, Bow, Watt, Sushi, and Lakilester along with the star spirits and Peach's wishes vs Bowser and the star rod plus the machine. We never see it happen of course but its implied they all worked together to beat him.

Sticker star Mario had Kersti, which I blame the ''not really needing'' on bad implementation of game mechanics

M&L when fought as Rookie he forgot all his techniques, in PiT its 4 on 2, in BiS Peach and starlow weakened Bowser, he even says that wasn't his A-game both times he is fought because of it.

Dream Team.....well its ending is frankly kinda rushed and even when they fight a super powerful enemy, they don't do the ''it can't be harmed until the plot says so'' thing.

As for the opening of Superstar saga.......oh boy, uh. Maybe because Luigi when flying into his back and it was a surprise so he wasn't properly prepared????

So being a super strong being with unlimited power and wishes still doesn't mean you can't at least hurt your arch-nemesis?

And besides, your completely forgetting that there was more than one Bowser battle in inside story.

He hurt Mario plenty. He just didn't beat him. Chop it up to Mario's speed and agility as well as team work with his bro. I didn't forget about the 2nd fight in BiS. I mentioned it and both times Bowser says he didn't have his A-game, which was true because of Peach and starlow.

Kersti the game still treats it like she sacrificed herself to beat Bowser so even if gameplay wise you didn't need it, storyline wise you did.

Superstar saga I think he was just poorly written in general to make a punchline, an admittedly very funny punchline but later games got better.

Bowser is unstoppable if there are no lava around(and not being an RPG where he can get hurt with other stuff).

If Bowser gets his own game, he should fight with many enemies so he can be even with his abilities.
