Super Mario Galaxy. 120 stars with Luigi. I am fighting Bowser for the last time, ready to unlock the Grand Finale Galaxy. The credits are scrolling. The game is about to save. And then suddenly, "The game disc cannot be read".

After collecting every coin in Bob-omb Battlefield, and tried to go to the 8 red coins star to save. I Long jumped from near the Koopa Troopa, and for apparently no reason, I immediately fell through the floor and landed on the death barrier. Dying and losing my perfect score.

Super mario Galaxy, When I go to the Garden dome, the game says cannot read disc. Sometimes the game crashes but it is very very rare to have it work and able to select a galaxy. It happens to the other domes but the Garden done is always the one. I can't play my 2 favorite galaxies anymore!!!

Also when my Gameboy Advance SP broke, one of the hinges was broken because I dropped it a couple times and got really mad at a game a few times. It became really glitchy with the screen going upside down and then flashing colors and soon the screen went black but sounds still works on it.

All those ---ing times when I had to send my Wii in for repairs and Nintendo wiped out all my data. I think it happened more than 3 times to me already.

when my DS broke after I found it after I had assumed it was stolen

While I cannot think of a time when a video game did not work atm, I do remember the day when my Wii crashed and made it unable to read discs. I still have not recovered everything, including Twilight Princess and Skyward Swords (which SS I had 100%).

I can't get blue CD games to work on my PS2. I've tried the tape trick, but I can't get the disc to balance evenly, and I'm paranoid about opening the console in case I break something and make the situation even worse.

My GameCube's memory got corrupted once and had to be formatted.

All of my files were deleted.

Fortunately, I quickly regained my place in almost all my games.

Yeah, Pokemon Colosseum did that to my memory card once.

I still remember that stupid disc. It sits on the top of the shelf, away from all the other Gamecube games, so if we ever think about playing it again we remember that it has a chance to wipe the memory card.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Whenever I try to start a match with Ice Climbers or Jigglypuff or use Pokemon Trainer's Final Smash, the game always crashes on me. I really find it irritating.

When I was 10 I first learnt about NTSC and PAL. That was the day I gained ownership of an NTSC F-Zero GX that I will never play.

When I got Tales of Graces f only to find out the blu ray reader on my PS3 wasn't working so I had to wait a month before being able to play it. My Wii also suddenly stopped reading all discs so I sent it to get fixed. It came back bricked so I couldn't get internet and I lost Paper Mario, Super Mario Bros. 3, Pokemon Rumble and some Bomberman game. In exchange I got homebrew channel so I guess it was fine.

My old Wii would sometimes crash in Super Smash Bros Brawl when you looked at trophies. But only some of the trophies. If you actually wanted to look at them, it came down to guesswork which ones would work and which ones would crash it.

Then that Wii kicked the bucket and my save data was lost. And I was very sad.

When my sister broke my DS twice (out of infantile rage), and when I thought I put my DS in a safe spot (inside my mom's desk), my mom broke it (out of infantile rage).

Well, there have been instances when both of my Wiis crashed (all with a buzzing noise):

First one: twice in 2010, first in February during the playoffs in an NHL game, then later in August at the end of a program on Netflix.
Current one: a few seconds into the Dexter's Laboratory intro (the scene in which Dee Dee turns towards us after entering the house) on the Amazon channel-this was a few weeks ago.

A few months ago our Wii stopped reading Wii game discs; at the beginning of last month it was sent in for repairs. We still haven't gotten it back.

I'm not complaining though, I have other things to keep me entertained.

Moral: if you have another memory card, as long as it is COMPLETELY EMPTY, feel free to use that exclusively for Pokemon Colosseum-related data. If you don't have another memory card, then buy another one once you have the urge to play said game again.

I damaged most of the games for my Dreamcast years ago. Only two remain, and even they don't always work well. I can recall that they were Chu Chu Rocket, Centipede, and a Tony Hawk game.

That truly sad moment when you find out that your Luigi's Mansion game no longer works, and that you're stuck with having to get rid of it.

It's been over a decade since I've played Luigi's Mansion. It's one of my favorite games too. :'(

Some six years ago, my then partner had never played or seen the original Final Fantasy. I dragged out my NES, fired up Final Fantasy after some fiddling, it was grate. Figure as long as I had the thing out, I may as well toss something else in, just to find that running Final Fantasy was my old NESs last breath.

Animal Crossing: City Folk wouldn't play anymore. It said there was no disk, and if we actually got it to work, it would say no disk after 5 seconds.
When we finally bought a new disk, it worked. But our save data was gone.

That one time I turned on my Wii and it would always crash after the Health+Safety Screen.

Also, I would always try to go into Universe Mode in WWE 13 and get that really annoying buzzing sound. Luckily I was able to get a new disc because I had a warranty.
