Alright, it's just bothering me so much I have to elaborate.

10. Ok, this just doesn't even make any sense. They have to originate from a video game in order to be playable people. This suggestion might be worse than Goku.

9. Banjo is owned by Rare who is owned by Microsoft. Not happening.

5. Toon Link seems to be cut already. I don't see why they would add Toon Zelda.

4. God, I hate when people suggest more than one Sonic character. Third party space is already limited people.

3. I love Crash. But he is not going to happen.

No way is Ralph going to be playable, the only game he was in was the videogame tie-in with the film and considering it wasn't a Nintendo game I highly doubt they're going to look for him as a third-party character.

I'm against having "alternate versions" of already playable characters which is also why I don't want Paper Mario or the Baby Bros. I will say that the release of Wind Waker HD might give her some notoriety again but probably not all that much. There's a handful of other characters that are more important to the series overall, like Impa.

4. Knuckles

Let's wait for Sonic to be confirmed as a returning veteran before asking for more characters from the series.

3. Crash Bandicoot

I'm with NSM on this one. Even though I only just like the bandicoot.

2. Snivy

I'm assuming that this is a Pokemon of some kind. Mewtwo has a new form and is apparently relevant to the series again. Not to mention fans were pretty upset he was cut from Brawl so I think this would be a good time to reintroduce him to the Smash series.

1. Pac-man

Sakurai has gone on record saying that just because Namco-Bandai is helping develop Sm4sh doesn't necessarily give their characters priority. However, Pac-Man is the one other third party character I see as being a viable choice (even though there are other N-B characters I'd rather see). Plus he's got the whole "video game icon" thing going for him.

Waluigi, King K Rool, Bowser Jr, and Pac-Man are the only ones of these that have a real shot.

All the others are either too generic (Boo, Wallop, Hammer Bro) and/or not as relevant anymore (Donphan, Mew). Too minor of a role in their respective series (Petey, Fawful). Missed their first and probably only chance to get playable (Toon Zelda). They're likely to not give Sonic a 2nd character, and as for the other non-Nintendo characters they're just not requested enough to consider, and if it wasn't for the fact Microsoft owns Banjo-Kazooie they'd be a possibility. And Ralph's impossible.

4. Wait until Sonic is confirmed.
3. Crash is already abandoned.
2. Snivy might appear to replace Lucario.

Possible. If we get a new Mario character it's most likely going to be either him or Toad.

If Toon Link doesn't get cut, then maybe. Though I doubt a fifth Zelda rep anyway.

I don't see any third party getting two reps.

Crash Bandicoot

Eh, I doubt it.

Snivy

His only hope is if the Pokemon Trainer gets different starters, but I personally doubt that would happen. As a solo character? Not a chance.

Pac-Man

Possible. Only remaining third party newcomer that has a decent chance of getting in, I'd say.

The true problem is if Microsoft still focus on them or just rather find their own original representive to be in SSB4.

As mentioned many times, if not in a dream roster, Bowser Jr or Waluigi are not the most important ones in the rest of Mario characters, not to say no more Mario characters unless some Brawlers won't return.

I don't think a 3rd party series can have that chance, even thy have, it could be a different SEGA protagonist.
