Yeah, he was a horrible fighter, but he was MEWTWO. As someone who thinks only Nintendo stars deserve to be in Smash Bros., I think he has to stay. He's freaking iconic. He's the [once] most powerful Pokémon ever. He's a legendary Pokémon. Lucario? Lucario is just one more of the 700+ Pokémon that exist (I'm looking at you too, Jigglypuff).
 
i'm certain mewtwo will return, though i honestly won't be too unhappy if he doesn't

I think this is cool, even though I haven't used him that much. People are complaining that he'd "outdated" being 2 generations behind, even more are crying foul that they chose Lucario over Mewtwo, despite the possibility that Mewtwo could ALSO be in the game... Incidentally, that rumor I posted a while back said they were both in the game and had different movesets. Lucario's moveset looks largely unchanged, so I have to wonder, if Mewtwo is also in the game, how would his moveset be different?

Also, you think Mega Lucario will be his Final Smash? Or at least part of it? I honestly thought his Final Smash was cool as it was.

Lastly, two characters were confirmed in one month (King Dedede and Lucario, I believe). Makes me wonder if we'll get increased character confirmations as time goes on...

I thought he was returning because of the whole Mega Evolution thing. He's not outdated, man. He's one of the 4th gen, which isn't so old.

Yeah, I have a feeling these guys wouldn't be complaining about any of the G1 Pokemon choices that would return. ::)
 
I have a feeling a lot of people are going to complain that this game will be Mario and Pokemon: The Fighting Game featuring other characters, if not already.
 
Sucks because I'd like to have Melee 3.0 on Wii U.

I think that Smash 4 will probably turn out to be quite different from what the trailers show... Looking at the old Brawl trailers, it looked like Melee (in terms of a combo perspective).

Shown here (at about 2:30).

So eh, overanalyzing things early on most likely won't matter in the end and we'll probably have more surprises. =P
 
Sakurai has stated that gameplay speed is between Melee and Brawl. That, plus the removal of tripping, makes me think this game will be much more liked in the competitive scene than Brawl.
