Anybody else find it odd Luigi can't jump in both Luigi's Mansion game?

I mean, it's like a Metroid game without the Power Beam.
Now now, I know that it is because a lot of things could be sequence broken with the ability to jump, but doesn't it look weird that they make two games based around Luigi without giving him the ability to jump.

Maybe Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon should be like Legend of Zelda, where there isn't a jump button, but you can hop across platforms automatically.

Anyway, the main reason why you can't jump is because he's a got a huge vacuum on his back. You try and jump around some time with a vacuum on your back some time.
