I'd rather have his Melee moveset be updated, but that's just because I liked it despite how weak he was in Melee. Perhaps he could have 12 different specials, like Palutena.

I'm actually ok with Gen 1 representing most of the Pokémon franchise in Smash. I think that's the way it should be. It's the most iconic generation and it has the Pokémon more people recognize. Besides, now that we know the criteria for choosing Pokémon for Smash, it's safe to say that from now on we'll have Pokémon from all new generations. We had Pichu for Gen 2, Lucario for Gen 4 and Greninja for Gen 6. I'm sure that if Brawl had come out when Gen 3 was new, we would have had Blaziken or another popular Pokémon as playable, or if it had come out when Gen 5 was new, Zoroark or someone popular from that generation would have been playable.
