webcam toy does wonders, it's the same thing I used for my avatar (which is also a legitimate selfie). At least you can still see my face in the last one.

My cricket did not make it past the front gate.

Crickets aren't a problem where i live, but when i used to live up in New York they were a bit annoying at night.

i fed crickets to my lizard by the dozen while he was still alive

Upon second viewing, you're probably correct. I'm not sure why, but I saw the surface it was on and automatically assumed it was aquarium gravel.
 
It's those caterpillars I had been talking about on my visits to the Bolsa Chica wetlands. They wander about in the sand. If they're unlucky, they end up as European Starling food.
