Earthbound on Wii U

Red Barchetta

Talk less, smile more.
Earthbound has been confirmed to be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console.

I am just.

is it christmas :')

Pretty sure he said at the end of this year, but aside from that...

IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME.

Finally, I have been waiting for this one for years. Now I can play it after hearing about it and watching gameplay footage for years.

If they do this, then there is hope for a Super mario rpg 2. Take heart fellow gamers.

Oh cool now I can play this without resorting to emulators or paying 5 billion dollars for a physical copy.

no seriously why is it so expensive

...Is this for real? This isn't a freaking joke, is it Nintendo? This better not be some cruel joke!

...Well...

I've just been so used to disappointment from these guys when it comes to the EarthBound series...

Yes!! I don't have to get ripped off on ebay!

You have no idea how happy I was to hear this.

Oh, and not to spoil anything, but just a warning: status conditions are the most annoying thing EVER, and it's pretty easy to get lost, so you may need a guide. =P

or you could just, ya know, use save states.
You can do save states on Wii U VC? O__O

@Ness (lol): Yeah, but you gotta remember which healing level heals what status and that's not easy lol
I am so glad Mother 3 improved that though...

they're called restore points

you can use it at any time, however, there's only one, not multiple

I'd definitely get this if I had the ability to. I've always wanted to try out Earthbound.

a is for little, b for strong, y is for serious, u is for dangerous (fainting)

Do they use save states for the Wii U's Virtual Consoles? Either way, that's cheating a bit...

This is probably why the game game packaged with a guide when it was released in the US.

Actually, you don't need a guide to get through the game. Most stuff can be found out by the Hint guy and listening carefully to what characters say. For example, a character mentions a gang called "the sharks" inside the arcade. This should make you want to investigate the arcade to see what's going on.

As far as battles, dungeons and enemies, you will need a guide for that.

Anyway, it'll be nice to finally play this.
