My best guess is that Nintendo didn't want to bother making software updates for the older Wii U titles; the system itself is at the end of its lifespan after all.

Well, the most recent update for the Wii U version was on February 2, 2017. They only added support for Poochy amiibo.

Also your reason may be the reason why Nintendo didn't update Mario Maker for adding support for the Daisy amiibo and adding costumes for the remaining Smash DLC.

I extracted the pattern and assigned it to the Daisy amiibo for the Wii U version, but I don't know how to repack the .GFA file
