Paratroopa was slightly more interesting than Koopa Troopa because it had wings.

I'd sacrifice it for a mission or adventure mode as well.
 
I think Mission Mode is vastly overrated. It had the chance to work out the kinks, but right now, it remains just a fun, stupid little side mode that forces you to play as random ass characters that aren't Mario, Luigi, or Toad.
 
I think it could be improved upon.

Really? I've seen people criticize it to no end, and it doesn't even feel like Nintendo puts a lot of heart into it, since it's a totally optional mode. Not to mention, it's not even played as much as racing.

Battle Mode ain't overrated.
 
Well it's all I heard people complain about when MK8 was released. Besides the roster of course.

People complained about it in Mario Kart 7, complained about it in Mario Kart Wii, and will continue complaining about it. Mario Kart 7 was the closest to perfection, though, but they still needed more arenas and more options. And also, the local multiplayer in Mario Kart 7 is easily the worst in the series, arguably worse than Mario Kart DS's.
