Well I can see where that comes from, when I first played I thought the World 1-1s were really similar up until I saw the rolling ground.

Unpopular opinion: My favorite type of villain in a Mario game is the intelligent kind that has a complicated evil plan, and relies on magic and/or technology to get stuff done, not just brute force. Fawful, Antasma and Dimentio, among others, fit this description, which is why I wish they would appear more and not stay dead. They deserve their chance too. Antasma is the worst case, ugh dat ending tho
I liked NSMB but that was before I started getting into the RPGs and stuff. Wii was ok, the others didn't stick with me so well. They weren't bad per se, just mediocre

I liked the progression in U where you made your way back to the Mushroom Kingdom/Peach's Castle. I always wanted to see that concept executed in a Mario game.

i liked the first one, hated wii, and i dont want to even bother with 2.
nsmbu though doesnt look that bad if you ask me, of course 3d world beats the crap out of it.
But if you want me to be honest, i dont think nintendo is trying very hard with the nsmb series, as fun as nsmb was and how fun nsmbu looks, they honestly just look like cash grabs.

The overworld map was cool because it was continuous, same with the way the secret exits were integrated. Can't believe NSMB2 was so disappointing, though. Even the plot kind of gave up. Seems like the million coins thing was added to add more replay factor into a bland game.
