As well as Episodes 7, 8 and 9 there's also 3 spin offs planned for production.

yes, because the last one of those was so great

i may change my opinion after episode vii comes out, but right now i'm really not liking the stuff disney's doing with star wars

I actually liked The Clone Wars film sure it was a bit cheesy at times but it set the way for one of the best things to happen to Star Wars: the Clone Wars series. Sure the original 2003 Clone Wars series was good but the 2008-2014 show was just awesome. Disclaimer: this is my opinion

the only good expanded universe things (imo) are the thrawn trilogy and (most of) the video games

although i've heard good things about karen traviss's republic commando series and the x-wing series

The Thrawn Trilogy and the X Wing series are the best series of novels IMO. The Jedi Academy trilogy was pretty good too. There's loads of great and not so great standalones but the series I've just mentioned are the most important and generally well received.
