Oh, and just so you're aware, villagers give two hints: The item type and a color (eg Brown Home Appliance)

i think i got all of them except elvis, because he's been sick since i started playing (he's probably better now but i haven't had a chance to check on him yet so idk)

what are the mini-loids that i dig up for?
 
with a shovel, you dig a hole, then you open up your inventory when you're in front of the hole, select an item, then select "bury." Gyroids can be sold for Bells or placed in your house (and they also can be swapped out in Club LOL for musical purposes).
 
huh, i've tried clicking things in my inventory to bury but nothing's showed up, thanks

They get upset if you repeatedly refuse their requests. Saying no every now and again is fine.
