I just beat __

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey (first time)

Really enjoyed this remake of one of my childhood favourite Mario games, in fact I hold the (seemingly very unpopular) opinion that I actually enjoyed this version better than the original, and that's coming from someone who enjoyed the Superstar Saga 3DS remake LESS than the original version of that game. That said, it has been a long time since I played the original so it would be difficult to have a fully fair comparison until I replay the original.

I also feel like completing this game is a really big milestone for me, since this means that (not counting the Rabbids crossovers) I've now completed all of the Mario RPGs up to and including the present including all remakes and side stories. Which has been something I've been working towards for a very long time, it's been 13 years since I first played Super Paper Mario and a bit later the original BIS and 6-7 years since I started playing through the rest of the Mario RPGs starting with TTYD.

Pros:
+ Mostly faithful remake of one of my favourite and most nostalgic childhood games
+ I love the new and revamped soundtrack, including new boss music for a couple fights.
+ Added a music player including the original OST
+ New and modernized graphics
+ Can flee fights easily and without losing coins
+ They removed all the janky mic stuff, especially good for the Fawful Express fight.
+ Less annoying required tutorials
+ Can jump/swim with both bros at once with Y
+ Can fast-forward cutscenes with R
+ Can always retry battles without having to use Retry Clocks
+ Added "Fury Mode" for all boss battles that activates when they're at half health
+ I LOVE the new and revamped Fawfulised Peach's Castle that shows a much colder and spookier vibe than in the original game.
+ I also really enjoyed Bowser Jr.'s Journey and found it a significant improvement over the similar side story in the previous M&L remake, Minion Quest. The gameplay is still just okay really, there are some minor improvements but the overall gist of it is the same pretty much (and goodness it feels weird to think it's been 2 years already since I last played Minion Quest).

The story though was brilliant, and despite having less new Fawful dialogue I easily enjoyed this side story more than Minion Quest because of it. I loved the original new villains Kaley and Dieter, Beef is ok I guess. I adored the development and exploration of Bowser Jr.'s character, as well as Kamek, the Koopalings, and the minions as a whole, and the dynamic between these characters is really enjoyable and at times touching. Out of any Mario game I've ever played, BJJ stands out as by far my all time favourite portrayal of Bowser's forces, especially Bowser Jr and the Koopalings. It was also interesting to see more of some characters such as the Koopa Paratroopa Trio (with the sunglasses). The game also has interesting ties to the main story, such as
Beef being in the room with the Bob-ombs that Bowser explodes after working out, and Bowser Jr. taking off a bite from the Giga-carrot
.

Neutral/mixed points:
- Bowser now recovers BP with Cheese instead of Syrup jars.
- Added easy mode, I definitely never needed this because of how easy the game is already but I don't mind it existing as an option.

Cons:
- Difficulty / balancing: This remake is easier than the original by a considerable margin, which was already pretty easy and perhaps even a bit too easy. I did a near minimum level playthrough of BIS, and my goodness the Blizzard Midbus fight takes forever after if you do it that way because there is a massive gap in required boss fights for Bowser between Fawful Theatre Midbus and Peach's Castle Midbus and giant Bowser battles no longer give EXP. I leveled up from level 9 to level 18 in one go! But other than Blizzard Midbus and maybe Dark Fawful because of that one attack where you have to punch Goombas at him, which is quite hard to dodge and deals tons of damage to Bowser if you miss, I didn't struggle very much on any of the boss fights in this game. They also completely reworked the Challenge Medal so that it no longer effectively acts as an optional "hard mode" for the game, although admittedly I never even used this in the original.
- I don't dislike the new title screen but preferred the original title screen.
- A couple of unique designs being removed/toned down, this is something I'm aware of but didn't especially notice I guess because it's been too long since I played the original.

I just beat Princess Peach: Showtime! and it is a fantastic game. Despite being a Luigi fan first and foremost, Peach is still in my top 10 fav Mario characters. My favorite transformation is Mermaid Peach because I really like the sea and mermaids. Follow up transformations are Dashing Thief Peach and Ninja Peach because I love the sneaky, spy/crimefighter vibe. Overall, I give this game a 10/10! 😎

Fabulous! I'm a huge lover of this game too. Glad you had fun!

I'd say I just beat New Super Mario Bros 2. Beat every level, got every star coin and visited every shop... but the game doesn't tell me I got them all and I still have 7 star coins left to spend.... I'm not sure if that's supposed to happen. Checked all maps too. Oh well.

A very underrated game. I haven't played it since 2016 and I felt I had to return to this game. I 100% it across my 2-day playthrough and it was a lot of fun! Controlling Kirby is sometimes an issue, but it wasn't too bad. You've gotta love the charm oozing from this awesome game!

Basically, just say it here if you just beat a game.

I beat Mega Man 2 and 3 today. 8)
I beat Megaman on the legacy collection multiple times
But I haven't beaten Mario games recently

I just beat Super Metroid for the SNES. I started the game about a week ago. Got a clear time of 09:07 and an Item collection rate of 66%. I have played this game in the past when it came out on NSO but never managed beat it cause I wasn't smart enough.

I loved the rich envirements, the music, the power ups, and the story. Also looking for secrets was a lot of fun. I'd say my favorite mechanic was the grapple gun, even though it becomes obsolete once you're able to fly. in this play though I'm pretty sure I accessed some areas I wasn't supposed to yet by freezing enemies with the ice gun, when I should have used the grapple gun.

The hardest boss for me was Phantoon which took multiple tries. And my favorite boss was Kraid.

A minor gripe I have is, a couple of times I went through a one-way door and had to take a giant loop through multiple biomes to get back to where I was. Otherwise the style of the game really reminds me of Terraria. Both of those games have you traversing a large underground maze filled with monsters, finding secrets, upgrading yourself and beating giant bosses.

I haven't played through any other Metroid game and definitely will be playing them in the future!

I've seen a video about it and it's sort of adorable. I like the handcrafted style that this game, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Yoshi's Wooly World, and Yoshi's Crafted World all have. I think it's a nice, mellow and cozy experience. Plus, I just really like arts and crafts, so I might be biased because of that.

Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World! I beat all the Special Zone levels but the color change to the map was not there. Am I missing one of the exits?

IIIIIIIII'MM BACCCCKKKKKKKKK
Just played The Genesis Project

I just beat The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild!

After over 70 hours, I beat the game and only completed... 15.21% of the game... got a lot to do if I want to 100% it!

I only got to experience this game because a friend convinced me to get back into it, and boy am I glad I followed up on it. I might start on Tears of the Kingdom before 100%ing this one, but that depends.

All of it, really. Not much could I define as my favorite part, but the four dungeons and some of the shrines were fun to navigate. Getting better at the combat and trolling enemies was my real favorite part, between the masks and just screwing with their minds from afar.
I really struggled with the mandatory Lynel fight (see above) and Thunderblight Ganon, but that's the worst of my troubles. I am now much better at fighting Lynels and defeated the two tougher ones in Hyrule Castle with only one death on the final one. Not scared of Guardians anymore.

I completed my first run of Balatro!

I completed it on the White Stake difficulty (no changes) and the Red Deck (the first unlocked one), and my Jokers I employed at the Boss Blind (which was Amber Acorn) were Loyalty Card, Misprint, Abstract Joker, Constellation, and Baron.

One down, a Balatrillion to go if I want to 100% this lovely game...

I don't mean to triple post here, but I have now beaten Celeste!

I forgot for a while I had unlocked Chapter 7, then I proceeded to go through the entire chapter in one sitting. This was such a fun game, and I've still got more berries and various other collectibles throughout the game to do (and I am not excited for B and C Sides and Chapter 9) but I loved the platforming and how challenging it was. I still died over 2000 times though

I just beat "The Perfect Run" in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the first time. I even got the 1-Up Mushroom behind the Gate, which i thought i would never have the guts to do if i made it that far. They ought to mail me a trophy.

To memory, i never bothered with the Green Stars on my original save file. I think i was already hearing bad things about them at the time. For this playthrough, i only pushed through by binding my touchpad to FPS uncap to speed up the half-a-thousand repeated unskippable cutscenes. The rest was done legit. I was growing tempted to disrespect this mission by savestating or something, but i knew that would rob me of the personal significance of finally 100%ing the Super Mario Galaxy duology, so i managed to resist and keep throwing myself at it raw.

I'm not usually very grateful for such a long and difficult course as the very last thing to do in a game. I've come to realize that i personally don't like being challenged that much—the frustration takes me out of the flow state and makes me hyper-aware of my body getting uncomfortable and fatigued. Galaxy 2 already felt too preoccupied with being more difficult for difficulty's sake, so ending on this monster didn't leave a good last impression. The Galaxy controls always felt tuned for my beloved gravity-bending (which is completely absent here) and thus somewhat awkward for these kinds of tough classic-platformer challenges, which fit much better in the following games.

What's funny is, the mission seemed to be just on the cusp of the stamina i could muster. I could do five of these sections straight without too much of an issue, but six in a row somehow becomes incomparably taxing. I have to conclude that cutting that pointless Flipswitch segment would have sharply lowered the overall difficulty for me, even though it hardly poses a threat in isolation; it just saps too much endurance to slog through every time.

Ultimately though, i am undeniably relieved that i've finally vanquished this mission and can call myself a master of galaxies. (Is that a thing that anyone says? I want to put it on my business card and then just refuse to elaborate.)

I finally completed Batman: Arkham Knight, and so I have now finished the Arkham trilogy plus Arkham Origins. These games are some of my favourites ever, and I really enjoyed my time with them. It is my favourite ever portrayal of Batman and his rogue's gallery. Despite its flaws, I think Arkham Knight was my favourite.

Donkey Kong Banaza

Holy *yahoo* did I like this game more than I thought. It reminded me of my first Odyssey playthrough, and even though I got spoiled a bit on its ending, I am still glad I got to experience the game

I thought after awakening King K. Rool that the second part of the bossfight (being the return to the surface) immediately followed, not another layer with every enemy reimagined into Kremlings. Hearing the "augh" sound when defeating a Kremling here made me smile way too much, as I'm surprised they brought back the sound effect for this game. This is also the most I've struggled with a final boss in a while, since my expectations were low already after some of the easier boss fights so far.

Pauline's writing also stood out to me a lot, as I think they nailed the random thoughts a kid/teen may have (I stopped at most or nearly all the Getaways I could, so I heard a lot from her)

10/10, would dive to the core again

Kirby and the Forgotten Land. That ending tho, so sad when Elfilin sacrifices himself to save Pop Star 😭

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

"fun" fact: I played through almost the entire game sometime in the mid 2010s, and was about to 100% it, when on literally the last level in the game, my save file got corrupted and I lost everything. very happy I finally got the chance to finish it for real
