It's not even that. Many people have said that your thoughts were absolutely horrid; you apparently just haven't paid enough attention to notice. I was actually given this topic multiple times because so many people were disgusted by your selfishness, and they wanted me to give you a verbal beating.
I'm attacking you directly because you deserve it. Simple as that. Does it make me a *bleep*? Yes. Does it make me wrong? No. I'm being blunt, I'm not incorrect simply for the fact that I'm saying exactly what I mean.
Like I said, I know you won't magically change your opinion because the big bad meanie on the internet yelled at you. But maybe I'll make you think with this. Maybe, for just a second, you'll think that you're being selfish. That your disregard for human life that you don't know personally isn't necessarily right. That, perhaps, you might be wrong. Because you really are, man. You really are.
I'm perfectly aware that I'm being selfish. Then again, everyone is selfish to varying degrees. I don't think in terms of right and wrong (only in terms of legality, so I condemn Gadhafi solely on that basis). The fact is, everything we say is biased, and I don't like to impart further personal bias on others' actions or behavior. It's certainly a possibility that I am incorrect, since I said before that I am not infallible, but the same holds true for you (though as a general observation, people, including myself, tend to find it easier to determine the flaws in others' opinions than to determine the flaws in their own). Because there is no objective standard of right and wrong (e.g. one on which everyone can (not should) agree), your opinion of my opinion extends no farther than your personal convictions.
I did not post on this thread with the intention of offending anyone, but I'm not going to apologize on behalf of the people that got offended. Does that mean I don't care about others' feelings? No, but offending people is something that we are all unable to avoid, as someone, somewhere, at some point in time is going to get offended by something one says regardless of whether the intent is there or not, so why obsess over it? I knew what I had to say would most likely be unpopular, but then, popularity isn't really something with which I've ever been concerned, not when it involves being silent or modifying my speech to come across as "politically correct" when I am not (as an aside, people who live their lives based on others' opinions of them are weak-willed (not directed to anyone here)), something I must applaud you for not doing. Like I also said before, you don't have to agree with or respect my opinion, and the same is true from my end. If, after all this, you still feel the need to verbally "beat" me, go right ahead, no one's stopping you, but this isn't a bout, so don't expect either of us to emerge "victorious."
