    There were probably some before this, but Coraline (released 2009, I first saw it in 2015 when I was 12) is the earliest film I remember watching which at the time found scary (and tbh I still kinda do especially thanks to creepy fan theories).

    Yeah iirc that was a weird yearly tradition my old school had where the entire school would watch a film together, the only other films I remember we had for that tradition were Paddington, and possibly High School musical and Alvin and the Chipmunks. I frequently watch the fan theory vids on Coraline as well as clips on YT that you get but the only other full watchthrough of the film I've ever done was in the very early stages of 2021 by using a VPN to access Canadian Netflix
