Miiverse's (bad) past.

64-Bit Nintendo Machine

64 Bits of Power!
Ah miiverse, where the admins are bots and there's lots of NSFL and trolls.

Also discuss your experiences with it here.

R.I.P

I think Miiverse was a sadly flawed implementation of a great idea: I love the idea of Nintendo having a self-hosted social network to directly evaluate what their fanbase is talking about. Something about posting on Miiverse felt more like Nintendo was listening than posting anywhere else. I hope eventually we get a successor, albeit one that's more traditional in terms of being a PC-compatible website with basic social media/forum features like profile pictures. The Switch would still be able to connect to it, and it should have a strict age limit that's enforced with parental controls. That way we can have an official platform for Nintendo discussion that's directly from Nintendo but also has less spammy posts from kids and more serious game discussion with fellow Nintendo nerds. All with Nintendo moderating it all. That would be perfect.

inkopolis is my favourite social networking site

I had many false reports and had lots a admin notifications, I was even put on a two week ban for drawing a PRETZEL STICK. I one time said "shit" and they took it down as "bullying" but I never flamed. I said in the post "Holy shit, that is a screen KO!" I mean is that directed at anyone? NO. No wonder I waned my activity in early 2017. In another incident, After Hurricane Harvey I used the hashtag #Houstonstrong and they deleted it for advertising, I was 16 at the time and I did not know how advertising works. I appealed every false report and they put back that it broke the rules when I knew it didn't.

Someone traced my Baby Luigi art from deviantart and posted it on Miiverse. In my comment, I've linked to the original art, but that got deleted because fuck that service.

Someone posted the way through the Lost Woods in the original Zelda (up, left, down, left), but wrote it in reverse. Young and naive me tried to correct them in the comments, and I got reported for spoiling game content.

I used to pander to miiverse by occasionally posting "witty" jokes in relation to the games i own, I took a lot of pride in getting many likes for stupid pokemon/mario/animal crossing humor. Despite not having played the games yet at that time.

How does one even trace something on Miiverse, their drawing tool was basic AF and did not let you paste something in the background to trace. I mean, I'm not doubting it happened but it means there's almost no practical reason to copy someone else's work as opposed to making an original drawing. If you're skilled enough to copy someone else's art to a Miiverse drawing, you're skilled enough to make a good Miiverse drawing that's yours..

Someone liked my art, and copied the pose I did, practically everything. Maybe it's not literal copy paste tracing but I could still tell that he traced off my artwork because he really liked it.

Also, copying a pose isn't the same as making a new pose yourself.
