Are you using MS Paint? Because them you can identify the background color, and then paint with it around the sprite

Issue 1 looks better, but to get the exact color, use the tool that lets you recognize a background color, and also use free form select so you can get right on the edge of the sprite

Even though I only have 1 comic, I have decided to start over. It will have generally the same plot, but I will make it on Photoshop because I'm too lazy to use the eyedropper tool and I remembered how to change an image's format so I can upload it. It will be much better now that I have sprites for myself and the other characters.
