Dorayaki
King Bowser
This topic reaches to all future Smash games, which will have new system, new mechanics and new play depending on the consoles.
Sometimes I heard the "everyone need to stay ever since Ultimate", that every future Smash game needs to bring back all past figthers before creating new fighters only with the remaining budget. I wonder if it's a minor or major opinion?
I do agree with several reasons: in players' view it'd hurt to love their main that they're best at, in companies view it'd be easier to continue updates on existed fighters and recycle their moveset concepts in a new game.
I know the Smash fighters are well-beloved today and I respect that, but I'm not really sure if it's a consesus that every fighter is highly demanded to stay today. My biggest concern is, it feels more like some fans just want the game to stay as complete as before, not that they do honestly love all the Smash fighters and want to support them from the bottom of heart.
As for Nintendo would do it or not, Mario Kart World's massive cut had been the most recent and classic example, even if some of the cuts are not considered a smart move.
Personally, I feel like "hall of fame" idea would still be valid even if the fighter is cut. It could also work if all further Smash games are like King of Fighters and Street Fighters series, who have cut in every game, but also like to bring back popular fighters who were absent from last game.
